Where to order CD20Max / CD12Max from?

Get a S100. You wont be dissapointed

Well, yes…. However, they accepted orders / payments and then ended up being unable to provide the stock.

It’s a tricky one. Their business model is very different from what people may think, and once a payment has been made and it is in motion, they will fill the order - even (unfortunately) if it means substituting the request with a slightly different product.

It has always been this way, but recent circumstances that are not controllable have really highlighted this.

As a general rule of thumb and advice to all, don’t rush to purchase brand new design products. Advice is to always allow 6 - 10 weeks of proven sales before you purchase. It just pays to be patient. :+1:

Got the CD20MAX Chinese edition in, and according to ADB it’s Unisoc UWS6152 chipped which is W527. The included USB charging cable didn’t have data (has 2 prongs), but I had a DW89 4 prong cable on hand that worked for data (without modification).

The RAM is 4GB and storage is 32GB (ADB reports 24GB, but everything else including AILIFE’s tool reports 32GB), and I don’t see any signs that either has been ā€œfakedā€.

AILIFE’s DW smartwatch developer helper got me USB data connection and wired ADB developer mode (Thank you @AILIFE!): AI LIFE / DW smartwatch developer helper Ā· GitLab

Order was from Shenzhen South Mountain via https://www.alibaba.com/x/B1cz9v
Total cost $85 (via Paypal on Alibaba) + $30 US tariff (via DHL delivery website)
Ordered March 9th, Shipping notice on March 16th, Received in Missouri, USA on March 19th.

@Noispirit How do you root CD20MAX?

it is not possible to root this because the firmware version is too high you need 2025 version
bad news they have also found way to completely disable usb in system and in brom mode too so flashing will no longer be possible in w527

Ouch!!! That’s pretty serious prevention going on by the brand.

This is sad news,

i believe spd dump update will be able to get flashing again but not in near future (start from cd55max)

Well that’s a little bit of good news - for now.

Just curious @AILIFE - have you managed to build from source for the w527? Or is it not yet possible…?

Sounds good. @Dr_Andy_Vishnu is sending me a CD20 Max that has the EU firmware image and it doesn’t boot after he tried to flash the domestic firmware (Chinese version).

So, I’m hoping to revive it and flash the Chinese firmware. So, I’ll need to get hold of the complete set of images (all signed I guess, which probably caused the failure).

Do you think this may be possible if all the required images are available?

Thanks :+1:

both firmware file is available

@Dr_Andy_Vishnu Sorry mate… yeah - what you said :joy:

I don’t have a Danny at the moment mate, so whatever you say is reality :+1::+1:

As far as getting it working again goes though, as with all the CD models, it will be interesting and may not end well. They all seem to have issues of some kind.

It looks like they need to do some work on the board and chip design / layout. To be honest, I’m thinking that these have been released a little early and may not be ā€œproduction salesā€ ready yet. This could be partly why they are harder to buy, as well as the shocking increase of the prices. I heard that the S100 price has gone up significantly (in last couple of days!)
