Where to order CD20Max / CD12Max from?

these watches can be found on Taobao and Alibaba, but not sure how safe it is to order to the EU.

because the w527 is not certified for wireless band, it is illegal to sell it, so we can not say

None full android watches are certified on this forum…

can you just stop with your bullshit posts?

Hmm, might be better to wait for a different board with acceptable Wi-Fi chips. Is the BT on the same chip?

No Android watch is ever going to be certified by Google. I thought that was well understood?

If it isn’t WearOS, it’s not getting certified. That’s it, nothing can be done about that. But it’s never stopped us in the past and it won’t stop us in the future either.

5ghz Wi-Fi you mean @AILIFE ?

5G cellular is just ridiculous in my opinion. Not just because all of the false advertising on the watch brand sites, but because it creates enough heat to warn up a tin of beans :rofl:

While it is destroying battery….lol.

That is very unfortunate.

It would make it almost impossible to sell such a solution. Surely it makes sense to use a legal chip for WiFi and possibly BT..? That would make it legal and offload those services from the main chip

To be perfectly honest, people are at the point where paying a bit more for a decent product is far better than buying rubbish that ends up in a draw and not usable.

So, the additional cost is worthwhile and more acceptable now.

PS: Wiite is looking into the w527 now as well. After I had a chat with them. They also think it makes sense. :+1:

Hopefully this will provide more hardware to use for your project.

w527 will be certified eventually, just who is gonna pay for it, it is gonna work perfectly fine, and single chip lower power consumption and bom cost, it is the weak point of MTK

Yes, just not for watch is what I was indicating.

But once certification is given for another device type that uses w527, should be ok. However, I would rather use MicroG than have GMS in system.

allow spoof signature permission and let user install them self

So you don’t think MTK 6769 G85 is worth any effort @AILIFE

It was looking quite efficient to me. I must admit though, I have not looked at it is detail yet.

Still waiting for the dev board from Wiite. I have the alps code already (A10, A12, A14 & A15) but the board will probably arrive at the end of January or beginning of February.

Let me know if you want to be involved. It might turn out ok.

Yes, that’s what I was getting at :+1:

only one way to know, to actually use it for a week
mtk would do very well with gsi, better then w527 i asume, though both already supported volte in gsi
mtk pperformance looks better on paper, but do you need it on a watch?
mtk power always worse then unisoc or even normal qualcomm not by samsung
itis not totally worthless, but in the end, cost is the one that matters if it sells or not and unisoc is way ahead

I understand what you mean, but I can’t get hold of w527 and because the new MTK has landed and I can get it, I thought why not check it out.

I’m happy to include you if you are interested. It’s on the table, but unfortunately w527 is just out of reach at the moment.

For me anyway…. I just can’t get my hands on it.
