Watchface Designer

Have you looked at this old discussion

Hi. I havent seen this issue in years but knows it exists.

If you change the gif to a mp4 file

Rename it as a " bg " file it will work :+1:

thx for reply.
But it’s not very clear for me, U mean I convert Gif in Mp4 file and name it BG.mp4.
And after what with WFD? Where to put the BG.Mmp4 file?
Thx

Hi . Sorry

Yes , convert .gif to mp4

Then change filename to .bg

You have to insert manually into .xml file

Thanks

OK, sorry i’m a noob, but in what xml to add and how?

Sorry. I has misinformed you. Have you read my post above " bg demo " ? .

Convert your gif into mp4

Rename to bg

Drop into clockskin folder

So that’s what a did:
rename bg.mp4 in BG.bg
edit my watchface with WFD to delete the gif background and export it in Enhanced watchface format.
put BG.bg in my watchface folder (named S9WF02)
then copy on my watch.

and after that , the bg is … black, no animated.

Then it is a watch issue. Unfotunately bg files do not work on all watches.

Post above edited

bg files may work with UL ?

@Eric_Crochemore will be able to confirm this

Thanks

Ok… thanks anyway

.bg is just back ground…
It’s something for the xml to recognise I believe?
I could be wrong though.
@Dr_Andy_Vishnu @G1NT0N1C does .bg stand for “back ground”…?

It stands for background yes. You manually drop your bg file in clockskin folder and it works. No wfd / doesnt need adding to .xml

And the file can be as big as a movie ( no limits )

Pretty cool eh :+1:

Sorry to be noob but when u’re talking about “bg” file, is it the name or the extension of the file???
test.mp4 => bg.mp4 or test.bg?

Hi. Dont worry. You name your mp4 file bg

Example

A clip from star wars called

starwars.mp4

Change to bg.mp4 :+1:
