Sorry, looks like my answering service has a very bad quality. The spoken instructions are so very clear and loud, but the left messages are in very low quality and much weaker, so that was a bad test. Tried calling my daughter, without headset and she asked me to move away from the mic as it was too loud when I spoke close to it 
They were all Voice over WiFi calls from the watch.
Ok, that raised a question, so tried mobile signal calling too, with same results.
I only asked about headphones working because it is always possible that in an attempt to make the devices splash proof - they sometimes gum up the speaker.

Tried with headphones . I could hear fine but at the other end very loud distorted noise and couldnt hear me.
Car kit 100% fine
App rotation problem still present with most apps
So … still wondering if there is any solution or suggestion regarding the speaker/mic low volume issues?
@pablo11 will have reported the above comments by now but unfortunately these things dont happen overnight

I have some news about the microphone issue.
It appears that there was an issue with the main board at the factory.
This has now been fixed.
However, I will have more information tomorrow hopefully and find out what, if anything, can be done for existing owners.

The rotation issue is getting fixed now and an OTA will be on the way soon 
My MAX-S is still on v1.9 of 20201221 with no OTA push for something new. I’ve been using Rotation Control Pro for now and it’s been doing fine in rotating the apps that really need it to be landscape orientation for wearing it as a watch. Since apps are individually selected, I can skip rotating the camera apps and others that get totally screwed up otherwise.
I really don’t think it is worth trying to do this because it is about to be fixed
I really look forward to that. For now, we have to use a rotation app, because some apps are impossible to use in portrait mode, with the watch on the arm. Unfortunately My running app is one of them, and during a timed event you don’t want to have trouble with the user interface sideways and also the touch buttons seems harder to hit correct.
This is the cause of the problem and it over rides anything else including build.prop…

Any hope for a fix to the poor speaker and mic volume on the Max S phone calls?
Have you put volume to the max in phone call ? Mine is loud and clear in phone call.
