Good plan :+1::+1:

I’ve had my Rollme S08 for about 2 weeks now and it’s a really nice watch. Unfortunately I am probably not the candidate for this. As a stand alone, with SIM, it’s excellent but I find myself using my WearOS TicWatch Pro 2020 for the BT calling and txt reply capability. If I could accomplish this, it would be a no brainer to keep. As for the watch, great screen, love that I can run all my home security, smart thermostat, smart plugs, web browser, YouTube, etc at my wrist. I haven’t had a problem lasting a day with it. The round vs square screen switching was a bit annoying but now comes second nature. The small magnet cable is a bit annoying to stick, but works fine. I really want to like the watch and keep it but again, I am not probably using it the way I should. Am looking to prob dump on eBay at a discount - it’s immaculate, has all the included pieces and box.

It is not something that is for the public thread.
It has caused arguments and unfortunate situations in the past and we don’t need that happening again.

will do, sorry about that

This is excellent news! Has the firmware/guide been uploaded yet?

@Humbug24 Not yet but very soon.
I have to test before posting and I’m still waiting for mine.
We have successfully engaged with the brands though and I will open an official section as soon as possible…
Cheers

No worries - no harm done.

@pablo11 I just received the Rollme S08 today. Looking great so far. Really looking forward to getting the firmware as I don’t want to try rooting and intalling TWRP unless I have the stock firmware. I’d be willing to test on mine if you have it.

I’m guessing the TWRP for the Kospet Prime will likely work on the Rollme S08 but if not I’ve modded TWRP recoveries in the past to get them working on similar phones.

After just a quick test with the Rollme S08 camera the picture quality seems way better than my Kospet Prime main camera. Pixel size of both the Rollme S08 cameras work out to 8 MP. But that is obviously interpolated and as @none stated likely 2 MP actual camera sensors. I’ll upload comparison pictures in a while.

That’s interesting because the 2mp module in this is smaller than the 3mp main module in the Prime.
But I will be very happy to see comparison of both of the Main cameras of S08 and the Prime.
Not interested in the front facing module.
Thanks for the update @droidtrix

I have a couple pictures which I cropped slightly and resized both the same amount assuming it might be too big to post the full size pictures here. It is more obvious in the full size pictures I have but I think you can still see the graininess in the Kospet picture compared to the Rollme. The Rollme also seems to be a bit more zoomed in whereas the Kospet is a bit more wide angle from what I’ve seen in framing pictures around the house.
Picture by the Rollme S08 of the Kospet Prime (hope that isn’t confusing  )

The graininess is a bit more obvious if you click on each picture in the message above. Also the Kospet Prime original pictures were a slightly larger file size (about 2.5 MB) versus 1.8 or 1.9 MB for the pictures out of the Rollme S08. Despite the larger file size the Kospet pictures have always looked very grainy to me. All pictures were taken with the side camera (supposedly the one with higher resolution).
I’ll try to get some better outside pictures for comparison later. Raining here at the moment.

(Disclaimer: i made a few comparing pictures for the camera sensors as well, but take this with a big grain of salt. They are not representative in any way, just a very quick comparison.)

Reference photo taken with a Samsung Galaxy:

GC5035 (Lemfo Lem12):

GC5025 (Kospet Prime):

BF2206 (Rollme S08):

Note: they have a slightly different FOV, so i tried to match the size. I also made half a dozen pictures and took the best from every device.

Thanks @none for the comparisons. I almost wonder if my Kospet Prime had a main camera that was installed from the same tray as the front facing camera. I don’t think the one I have could manage a picture as good as the one you posted. I’m guessing I got a manufacturing mistake on my Kospet Prime.

The front camera on the Prime is really small… Like 0.3 mp or something.
That was the only way to get a hardware sensor of 3mp to run as the main camera.

Otherwise you can have 2x2mp or one 5mp.
So Kospet chose to sacrifice the front camera as 0.3mp and have a bigger main camera of 3mp.

I’d be very surprised if they put the very small 0.3 mp camera in the the main camera location by mistake…

If that was the case your Kospet photo would be really bad indeed.
Sometimes it can be down to the lens cover but whatever you do, don’t do what this guy did :joy::joy:

@none, Seeing your pictures reminded me to try taking a picture of a camera screen test image. Note the ‘noise’ in the one from the Kospet prime at the bottom of the image. Both were taken at the same distance from the screen and as I said it seems the Kospet has a wider angle lens whereas the Rollme is more zoomed in by a little bit. Both images were again slightly cropped and reduced in size for uploading here.
Kospet Prime:

Rollme S08:

I think that might be the issue, the Rollme has a smaller FOV which works like a small optical zoom.
Try to take a photo that result in a identical picture size on the display, with no regard to the camera distance.
However, the GC5025 in the Prime has a somewhat blurry lens that reduces quality quite a bit.

See the ‘Heidelberg’ text for example:

Yep, that’s what I was getting at in my post above… Agreed

I tried a picture with the Kospet front facing camera and beside the file size being about one fifth the size of the side camera it is less clear so you are right pablo11 that it doesn’t have the 0.3 MP for both but it does seem a lot less clear than the Rollme pictures I’ve tried.
@none I’ll try getting a couple pics with the same size without regards to distance.
