New Thor Pro

Android 5.1 had a lot of issues with cpu wakelocks…that also happened to me, the best way to see if there is a cpu wake lock is to install cpu spy and check cpu frequency. If the watch spends most time on the 600mhz frequency instead of deep sleep it’s probably an app causing a wakelock and draining battery. I have had that happen to me. If you dont want to root and install apps to deal with that, once you see this happen the best way to solve it is to restart the watch

that is only 8hrs of just bt usage??? something is draining your watch, you need recovery and root go to open watch project and see if they be willing to help with this and if there already recovery that suits your watch, that way you be able to use wakelock detector which is amazing app that help you monitor which apps are draining the battery and disable them even if they are stock apps.

New update to the report! I fell asleep with BT watchdroid only. And 5hours later it only dropped 15% which is impressive. I'll have to see if its stuck on 85% or its finally fixed 😂

Okay there’s a new update to the 2nd report, i fell asleep and 5hrs later its at 85% which is very impressive. I’ll edit the same post again for more reports if its actually stuck on 85% or if its finally fixed lol.

But yes, if it still persists to drain like it did this morning then I’m gonna need y’all help with rooting this. I remember way back when i had a samsung galaxy note 2 which was acting the same way on android 5.1 but i didnt root it to fix it thinking it was the battery issue n soon after the issue started i changed to another phone. When i first started rooting phones was back in the HTC Desire days and the last phone I rooted was a HTC Evo 3D n that was back in the Android 4.3 days lol which is why I want to try m avoid rooting this watch cus i haven’t done that in such a long time.

yes,all my notes never rooted only the first one:) but with watches i did root them to have battery life. i’ll be glad to help when needed:)

Last night my watch made it to 11:30pm where I finally plugged it in @ 3% battery left. That’s almost 18 hours of on time with Bluetooth connected. I’m pretty satisfied with that.

Actually once you connected to watchdroid with both BT n wifi on. You can switch off wifi after that, it should stay connected.

I tried turning it off once it seemed stable and BT started the connect/disconnect thing again. Leaving wifi works for me.

It takes a few tries to get it stable but yea if battery life aint an issue then by all means. Unfortunately for me my battery life has been crappy haha. Glad to hear your watch is doing good!

Thank you in advanced! If i rmb anything about rooting, it would be how annoying to redownload everything after that lol. Im pretty sure TWRP works on Thor Pro, just need leafar to confirm it

like i said before the version 1.6 is better,if you want better result root your watch read and search you will find that Android 5.1 for battery life its not optimize so you need to root your watch,it doesn’t hurt the watch, one more other thinks if you some problems reboot or clean cache and dalvik in twrp recovery, and the last thing install again the firmware and do factory reset. You need too to drain battery to 0% couples times too and charged to 100% nothing less, and just wait dont get upset and worries about the battery just wear the watch everyday and you will have better result,be patience.
it did happen to me in the beginning and my phone is an iphone and my bluetooth connection is very stable with the las update from IOS.

Okay I'm gonna root the watch when the time comes n flash back the v1.6 again, screen artifact really bugs me and its had problem shutting down that's why i went back to v1.5. Cus y'all just been saying root the watch but what else am i suppose to do after that? I mean rooting the watch is just extra access granted, then what else next? Just download greenify? Or something else?

And refer to the screenshot attached, i don’t wanna brick my watch because all the steps r so scattered in multiple posts and hell i don’t even know whats a magisk. Rooting used to mean unlocking bootloader and installing SU that’s it. What r the FULL steps to rooting?

Hey sonia, please guide me with all the steps needed to root my watch.

Right now im stuck on loading MT6580 scatter file to spflashtool. It wont let me tick anything

bicboi69

which files? link me to them.

I’m following the steps here r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=https%3A%2F%2Froundandroidwatches%2Eproboards%2Ecom%2Fthread%2F2546%2F&share_tid=2546&share_fid=1502908&share_type=t

But xda theres a different instructions and further down the replies there’s a modification done to the scatter file. This is too confusing. How on earth did leafar get it done :rofl:

bicboi69

i see:)

have you done these instructions? first you need custom recovery which via it you root the watch.

/thread/2546/twrp-expanse-zeblaze-thor-pro

after that you good to go and use supersu to root the watch.

if you’re not sure about instrutions ask freely.

It wont let me tick the boot and recovery boxes.

And what does it mean select the twrp image? Select from where?

@bicboi

are you trying the files that i’ve linked you to?

I’ve downloaded all the files from there. Following the steps. Im stuck in step 4. Loaded up the scatter alrdy but i cant tick any boxes. The next step says to select the twrp image, how do i select? Where do i select

EDIT: nvm i just realized it meant the location directory… these steps needs to be clearer I swear ahaha

Now im getting this. Refer to image attached. Should i proceed to format+download?

Uhhh yea i didn’t proceed with rooting since there was no feedback.

Today i got lucky though, my watchdroid stayed connected via BT with airplane mode on. Normally it will keep disconnecting. So thanks to that, its been almost 9 hours and its still at 55% quite an above average battery life compared to what i normally get. Now im trying to drain it to 0% before i go to sleep in another 3hours

And the next day, which is a working day. The battery decide to fail on me. 30mins went from 100% to 68%. I dont think it has anything to do with wakelock. Its just the watch reaching a false 100%. I drained it til 0% last night and charged it to 100% and i was hoping for an actual full charge. Guess that aint happening. I can’t live everyday hoping the watch can hold an actual full charge just to be disappointed all the time. Unreliable piece of junk.

Now 10mins later its at 45%. I know it aint the battery being defective cus yday it lasted a good 16hrs before dying out. A simple thing such as soft battery calibration cant be achieved even after 2 weeks of using this? Ridiculous. Even a cheap miband 3 was able to calibrate the battery properly after a 2nd charge cycle.

Took the time to sneak off during working hours to go home n grab the charger only to have it charge for a minute n turned off on its own n went from 43% to 99% instantly. Such a disappointment.
