LEMFO LEM P 4gb + 64gb (Prime style watch) support thread

I left the watch at home, will do when get back. Anyway, from what I found so far there is a little hope to unlock bootloader…

You are correct in that they are both DM30 watches with different branding.

However, different screens and other annoying crap to consider too. Especially buying it now after it has been out of the “the circle of trust” for so long.

OEM unlocking can be done without too much trouble, but DM Verify has to then be disabled and an empty image needs to replace the VBMeta image.

What is it you are wanting to achieve - just root access or flash AOSP ?

One thing that makes these more tricky is the use of a .PAC file which contains all the images for flashing. Not nice and easy like MTK. May be worth signing up to 4pda and see what they have. I know they are really keen in this area and have lots of useful info.

This link is also good to read:

Well, I bought it only because I found it very very cheap (used unit) and mainly for testing purposes, I just want to try what I could achieve with this piece of sh1t

My goal is basically to root. So maybe I approach it wrong? Should I stick with SPD upgrade tool and just replace images for boot and vbmeta? Why do you say unlocking can be done without trouble? Little confusing…

this is the build number:

EDIT: Anyway, the watch in fastboot does not accept any power key combo

Edit…. Wrong version…

I’ll look again.

Found it

I guess you have seen this?

Thanks, it looks same as the one you shared back in 2021 though.

So is there any particular approach to unlock and root that you’d suggest? Or I should just do “hit or miss”?

Nope, haven’t found that thread before. Very interesting, I haven’t found anything conclusive so far but I’ll go through the thread in a free time

Yep,

The firmware has never been updated.

Just wanted to make sure that you have a copy of the stock firmware to go back to.

It’s certainly not a job for a beginner.

I’m not trying to scare you off, just want you to realise that this is not a job for the faint hearted.

It’s pretty involved and will require some advanced skill in Android understanding.

Cheers

Yup, thanks for the warning. As I said, I have some experience and even if I fail and brick the device, I won’t be in despair  Anyway, I’ll give others an update whatever happens (in a few days though as I’m on vacation now)

It could be great that a renewed Android version could be applied to this watch.

Anyway, I’m still in love with it

Tried other WearOS watches but it didn’t even approach to a full Android watch. Only as secondary watch while I’m charging it

I think you mentioned before you loved this watch

Jajajaja :rofl::rofl::people_hugging:

So for now I’m little bit confused. I’ve read a lot about similar devices with Unisoc processor and some claim unlocking bootloader is obligatory, others - that it’s enough to flash modified .pac file. I wasn’t able to find a way to unlock bootloader so far. Perhaps someday I’ll try the approach with modified .pac, but from what I read (in Hovatek forum mostly), it’s helluva work to do: extract .pac firmware, patch the correct image(s) in Magisk (still not clear to me if I should patch boot or recovery image), re-sign patched image along with vbmeta, rebuilding the .pac file and flashing it only then with a high risk to brick the watch :joy: Bit daunting even to me, maybe I’ll find some motivation to try someday though

Cost-Benefit relationship..?

I guess isn’t worth the effort…

You know, it’s still just fun for me, I’m not attached to this watch as I use Galaxy Watch 6 as a daily

What do you think?

Could be useful that more Android watches will be made?

Or you think WearOS is always better?

Just curiosity about users preferences

Well, besides LemP I owned two Kospets before so I’m quite familiar with the FAW concetp. It’s been quite appealing to me from the day I learned about it. There are some big advantages of having fully fledged Android device on your wrist, however I find the hardware too limited (at least at the moment) to benefit fully from that. So after two adventures with FAWs I decided to stick with WearOS as my daily driver.

I cannot say that WearOS is always better, as technology is progressing perhaps someday I make the switch

When you say the faw hardware is limited, on which way you say that?

Certainly, there are some points on which faws are starting to feel a few out of date -at least for me- like the lack of NFC, better cameras quality, AMOLED screen, waterproofing and even better sports metrics nowadays. But this is due to the total absence of development on this kind of devices from the last three years. And honestly, is very difficult to me to imagine new devices from this kind to be produced again.

On the other side, I feel WearOS devices are starting right now to get a little closer of this devices, they have been upgraded all this time long, primary on the sports metrics, but even the have a long way -on many ways- to walk through before I can feel them like a better wear device.

I think, maybe if there were more Android applications that can be used on WearOS devices, it could be a big, BIG step ahead for them. I love to use YouTube, YouTube music, link them on my smarTV, listen music without headphones, use WhatsApp full, or even use Family link to control my two childs from the watch itself -just to mention a few ones advantages-

I have a tic watch pro 3 gps and I’d love to do this things on that watch or any other WearOS watch by example

I have wear OS watches also. They are boring compares to FAW’s. Very restricted. They can be altered but its a pain. I have Watch Droid working on a Galaxy 6 watch
