Hi, I have a Lemfo lemp and I really love this watch.
The battery uses to last from one to one and a half day when you use the watch connected to wifi AND/OR with 3G mode.
Not 4G. 3G.
If you enable 4G, the battery will last from 3 to 5 hours, on this and every 4G capable watch. 4G always uses more power.
Since at the end of the day is just a smartwatch (not a smartphone) I always let it connected by 3G when I’m not connected via WiFi. I receive all notifications and I even can use Google maps or GPS by using 3G, so it’s not really a problem to me and the battery saving it’s a gift.
Hey @stingray22 how do you enable 4G vs 3G? There’s a mode switch between 4G and sport, the latter supposedly saves battery, however @pablo11 in another thread explained that those are essentially are running the same OS, just with a different launcher (if I understood correctly).
Thanks for the advice, I won’t pursue firmware for now, I’m still just exploring the watch. When I check for updates the OS (LEMFO boot logo Android 9.1) tells me that I’m up to date. I read some topics how the hardware shifted from MTK to Unisoc. I have some rooting experience with Android phones, but I don’t consider myself a root or AOSP afficionado.
You need to go to Settings and network to change the cellular settings.
4G uses more power if the ISP provider does not allow access to their LTE network.
If you can connect as LTE it will use less power.
yes, thanks for the advice, I’ve been reading meanwhile and I know I’d have to use SPD Upgrade Tool instead. I’ll take a look on Hovatek forum as well.
Interesting case, I have quite a lot of experience with unlocking and rooting Android devices, but have never encountered this processor. A new challenge
I won’t get the device until the end of the next week and at Saturday I’m going for a short vacation so presumably I’ll be able to perform some test later only. Until then I hope @pablo11 be able to find the latest available firmware. If I manage to get root, I’ll definitely let you know
