@fiocco Rooting process and flashing twrp was perfectly explained in this post by @pablo11

Just note that the “patched boot” he is referring to is named “magisk patched” in the files list, or something similar

Some questions before update firmware:

  1. Should I install universal launcher before update smartwatch kospet prime firmware?

  2. Video shows SP_Flash_Tool_exe_Windows_v5.1824_Win while Flashing Tutorial has
    SP_Flash_Tool_exe_Windows_v5.1804.00.001, will it work anyway or should I download 1824 version? Where can I find it?

  3. I’m using windows 10 and MTK_USB_Driver_exe_v1.1032.0 works up to windows 7, will be compatible?

  1. It’s better to install it after
  2. Whatever the version you use, there’s an option on the top right of the window which allows you to update the tool to the latest version
  3. The driver should work properly, just ensure to install it from the windows 10 recovery mode (ask Google to find the procedure, i.e. “how to install mediatek driver”); this will disable windows 10 driver signature verification.

Thanks a lot, I will do it, I had a tutorial from Dr_Andy_Vishnu that it’s fine but when I saw different driver version I want to be sure of what I was doing, I don’t want to “brick” (if it’s called so) my smartwatch so thank you too for your time and advice.

Yes but I say that because the watch will disconnect during the flash if we put it wrong on the support so be carefull, it happened to me and several people here.

Good evening, I received the last update that you published, on which I salute your exceptional work, and I thank you for the opportunity. I encountered a problem during the installation, I reset my Kospet Prime watch to the factory condition, and during the installation it starts then there is a message said “error” a nothing more then. Please guide me how to do this update. And many thanks to you in advance.
I’m sorry, I’m not very strong in English, so I wrote in French, but after your remark I used a translator and re-wrote my message. Thank you all.

Sorry i dont fully understand your question . Are you attempting to flash your watch with the latest firmware ? .

Hi guys. Finally yesterday at 5:30AM I flashed and upgraded firmware with download option as tutorial.pdf said. Special thanks to @PeppethustrA for the help and links and @Dr_Andy_Vishnu and @SmartWatch_Ticks and @Malex

I would add to pdf tutorial these points :
A) @PeppethustrA said, disable windows 10 driver signature verification:
I did it through this option, which I considered easiest and don’t need to restart:

  1. Type command “cmd”
  2. Right-click on “Command Prompt”
  3. select “Run As Administrator“.
  4. type BCDEDIT /set nointegritychecks ON and press “Enter”

B) Because flashing tool folder comes with several tools, the flash tool to use is located in: Tutorial\MTK_USB_Driver_exe_v1.1032.0\MTK_USB_Driver_exe_v1.1032.0\v1.1032.0\InstallDriver.exe

C) If update firmware fails:

  1. First tries failed upgrading firmware, so I unistalled driver as it says in:
    Tutorial\MTK_USB_Driver_exe_v1.1032.0\MTK_USB_Driver_exe_v1.1032.0\v1.1032.0\ReadMe.txt
    Run from CMD (Command line, open start and type cmd)
    InstallDriver.exe -u

  2. Reinstall driver again running InstallDriver.exe
    Tutorial\MTK_USB_Driver_exe_v1.1032.0\MTK_USB_Driver_exe_v1.1032.0\v1.1032.0\InstallDriver.exe

D) Before put the watch on charging dock, make sure it’s shutted down.

E) Don’t touch the smartwatch while downloading

F) Revert changes and enable again windows 10 driver signature verification:

  1. Type command “cmd”
  2. Right-click on “Command Prompt”
  3. select “Run As Administrator“.
  4. BCDEDIT /set nointegritychecks OFF

My feelings about firmware: now smartwatch is faster than never, it’s really amazing how it feels with new firmware, it’s like having a new smartwatch.

Hello! I flashed the latest 1.8 May update after quite some problems, which finally solved after I disconnected my BT mouse and changed the USB port for the watch dock. Spflashtool wouldn’t do the firmware upgrade before this, but it worked once with download only mode with the preloader unchecked. That made me curious about the differences between the two, could anyone please explain the differences between download only and firmware upgrade (which I’ve seen is the recommended one for the prime)? I tried google-ing it but couldn’t find much about it.
