I also upgraded through OTA my KW88 to the latest firmware KW88_CS1_B_GSM_PHT_20170112 and I figured out the following regarding battery. Using your launcher without enabling your "hand movement gesture" notifications work fine and battery lasts around 2-3 days. Enabling the default "hand movement gesture" through default settings (not yours gesture) battery is again fantastic and lasts more than 2 days. Disabling default "hand gesture" and enabling your "hand gesture" the battery lasts less than 1 day. The difference there (I think) is the usage of screen. In the case of default "hand movement gesture" the default face (this digital one) comes up but immediately after 3 seconds goes sleep again. This helps the battery a lot. In your "hand movement gesture" the watch wakes up with the selected face (this is fantastic) but the screen goes off after the display period of timeout set in settings which the minimum value is 15 seconds. This means that the battery uses 3 times the battery of the default "hand gesture". Is it possible for you to make your launcher to set the display timeout lets say to 3 seconds, or 5 seconds? This will be fantastic.
I tried some apps from google play that they claim that they are changing the display timeout but unfortunately the minimum setting that I could change to is 10 seconds.
I don’t set this time when using “Hand movement gesture” so maybe that’s the issue.

OK I tested it and I have the same results. Notifications only turn the watch-face on but no notification. I have to set the default launcher up as default to startup and then switch to your launcher as the default after. Then it is OK until the next reboot. Then when I reboot I need to remove yours as the default and put back the stock launcher as default and then notifications work again. Then I switch to your launcher as default and it stays like that until the next reboot,
Too bad, so nothing has improved.. I'll let you know if i find something else.
Thanks
Hi Ricktop, thanks for your quick response. If you could try an experimental apk changing this timeout, I will check it immediately. I am a network engineer/programmer also and I could give it a try and report to you some more detailed feedback.

I have exactly the same issue... watch screen goes/vibrates but it doesn't show the notification. I have to swipe to the notifications screen to check it out. =(
buddyrm, how do you switch between the two launchers ?
Hi ricktop. I’m running this on my KW88 and I love it. When I install on my finow X5plus the launcher constantly crashes and returns to the stock launcher. Also is there any way to change the text size when in matrix mode on the X series as the text under the icons is way too big.

Check in your android settings if text size is not set to Big...

I don't have that option on my X5. I have it on my KW88 but not the X5 plus. Is there any way to access it with settings search or something?

I use an app called "Home Switcher / Manager: check google play. It’s pretty convienient to switch between launchers and to se the default launcher. Basically it pulls up the android settings page to make the change.

yes too bad, if I understood how the notofications are handled in your Universal launcher, that would be great. I can maybe help. But it almost seems that the notification is handled by another background service and not the launcher itself. Can you clarify how you handle the notifications in your launcher? is it a service you call? if so what is the name of it? I notice that there is a service app running in the background called "watch" that needs to be running for notifications to work. If I kill it while your launcher is active, then notifications stop. I just get the vibration and the clock face showing. Exactly like everyone else reports and when I reboot. Any info you can shed on how you handle the notifications would help maybe to track the issue down.

The service “watch” is responsible for bluetooth communication, in fact it is required by the Sinsoft’s notification app to work properly.

OK so that explains the lack of notification messages. OK so that is required. Understood.
The problem then is elsewhere. But what is strange, the original launcher is called “watch” also. So when you launch it, you get the old launcher come up. See image of the launcher selection page on my phone.

So I have to install this on my watch right ? Because in your last answer, you used a phone’s screenshot !

My launcher is based on a internal service for notification access. What i did with your "special" version is rename the service and all the packages with a private name to see if the link with the original launcher is still there.
If the notifications depend on the watch BT service, then we found the link. If this service is only active with the original launcher then that's the issue.

Yes this is what I suspect, some part of that service still needs to be active. hence the fact that the "watch" service is running in background. Wondering if there is any other test we can do. I still would find it strange that the BT service is integrated with the launcher. Maybe this watch uses the BT service under a different service name compared to other phones.

I've done a version that shows the indicator values when you touch the signal bars, if you can report the values you see, maybe i will understand what goes wrong :
Hi Eric! Thanks for this version! It really works now, I can see signal strength for both 2g and 3g, and its dynamic. So seems to work now. Please, don't change this part of code =)
Also, with version 1.1.6 I noticed that you have managed how to get rid of tooo often notification like permanent vibration on progressbar change, when app update or Bluetooth file receive. But together with that all notifications are no longer visible. I can see sound when my phone fires notification on the watch, but screen remains blank and when I switch to Notification page I see nothing. So hope this report will help you to manage this issue. Thanks!
Here is photos of my watch when I tap signal bars. Hope this will help.
(sorry for bad quality)

This version bring back all notification, incl. annoying permanent vibration on app update or file receive. By the way, I haven't did any magical movements like switching between default and your's launcher. It just works.

I have tried to install all of these HYT faces facerepo.com/app/search/results?sortOrder=relevance&query=hyt&page=1 on my KW88 running your launcher 1.1.6. None of them are working properly. Are they too complicated to tun under your universal launcher? Could they run under your next version of the launcher? What would you recommend do get somothing similar running on my KW88?
Thank you.
Unfortunately this version does not fix the issue with the hyt faces. Is there something you would recommend me to try? I’ve tried 6 of them and none of them are showing the time with the liquid. Should I uninstall this version of the launcher and reinstall the “main” one since this one did not fix my little issue or keep this one anyway ? Thank you once again Eric for all your efforts in trying to help all of us.
