Hmmm… I think the Hestia/Asta/Cond/Azhuoi H1 == ZoiyTop JM01 == QW09 == JM01 =about= KW99 =about= Sun S7 are all more or less same watches in technology, with different ‘finishes’ yes…?? MTK6572 with FunOS 3.4.67.
In my case of the Hestia H1 there’s been an OS update to H1-20170729150357 indicating an up to date OS, but a test shows it’s still based on Android 4.4.2 instead of the often advertised 5.1.
Although I don’t think the H1 is really IP68, I’ve seen the sealing in videos and read people testing it. IP67 should already bee 1m down for 30 min, … I read and DO believe you can take a pool-dive or swim lightly with it.
Hey… and if it breaks… I already had my 69 Euro of fun detecting and testing the device.
I did a bit of battery life testing (supposed to be 560 mAh)
- 30+ hrs in the scenario of a regular Alarm-Watch :NoGPS, FlightMode (NoWiFi, NoTel, NoBT, NoHR, DimScn 15s … select whatever nice watch face and take a regular peek (the rest of capabilities are for ‘emergency use only’)
- 18+ hrs in the scenario of a BTorganizer or Companion to your Phone: NoGPS, NoWiFi, NoTel, NoHR, Mid-Bright 30s … using BTLE for on-wrist messages from the phone …for moderate use. Reload every night, so no ‘sleep test’.
- 3+ hrs in the scenario of SMARTPhone with GPSonDemand (location services), WiFi, Tel/Data, BT/BTLE with earpiece NoHR. Be ready with your charger.
- 2…3hrs in the scenario of Sports with GPSon, NoWiFi, Tel/Data (location fix speed/accuracy, emergency calls, spotify), BT/BTLE earpiece (a/o better HRmeter), HR (is auto-on when in built-in sports mode)
- Unlimited …in the scenario of a Desk-Piece tied via USB (data device) to your Charging-station/Computer. Switch on anything you like, and control the i/o, screen, keyboard with ‘Vysor’ on watch an on (Google Chrome) PC.
In the latter case you can do all keyboard-heavy stuff, exchange information, and look upright at the screen.
Also … in the case of controlling it on-wrist you will like the Floating Toucher as the reviewer on YouTube suggested in his tests. Without that tools, I gets ugly to have to sift through the sequential menu’s
As indicated, my battery life (indicated as 560mAh) H1 varies from 30hr (setting as regular Alarm-Watch in flight mode) to 2,5hr (setting as Sports, with GPS, GSM, BT, HR, BrightScreen on 15s dim)
So… your mileage may vary a -lot- on setting and intensity of use, but will not likely be in the range of the 3 or more day that my Pebble does in its companion mode clever-watch.
Hey… and the Pebble also does voice-commands and IFTTT through ‘snowy’ … bummer that the firm didn’t survive and now fitbit has IP rights an no plans to improve on the concept…
Currently, I don’s see anyone using this as a real sports-watch: HR is to far off often, GPS fix can take long, and in a setting where it’s really tracking … the battery life is between 2…3 hrs.
I don’t seen ANYone carrying out the ‘tasks’ of trail running, mountaineering, half- or full-marathon … without having a big power pack…and looooong rests.
The manufacturer might as well remove those options from the menus… as effectively nobody is going to be able to use them in ‘real life’.
And those that cán run HM in less than 2hrs… are likely to use a ‘serious’ sports(only) watch like the Garmin fenix … The H1 seems to have ‘stolen’ its design from that.
Ohhh and did I mention that the ‘sync’ or ‘store’ function of the sports-events is broken in the current FunFit program that comes with the device ?
That FunFit program certainly also still needs quite a bit of work to become consistent and reliable.
In contrast, I can ‘run’ the combi of iPhone and Pebble watch (companion) for days…hmmm but also need the Mio Alpha for HR measurement.
In fact I’m using 3batteries and an e-Paper screen in that comparison so it may not fair… But at least I can pay attention to the sporting surroundings instead of fiddling with tiny letters on a crowded 400x400pixel screen.
My hope of finding a three-in-one for cheap has not come true yet.
For now my conclusion is that the new set of watches, even with nice features as IP68 and Camera … are still on a gadget level instead of ‘serious use’.
I’ll be enjoying my H1 for its occasional gadget-lover presence, an emergency-phone, some nice watch faces, and learning object.
… will be following progress here from time to time.
