zeblaze thor 4 LTE

My Zeblaze is arrived, I am happy!. i was asked to install a new version after installing wlan which I did. Then I made a factory reset. Hope everything is ok now, when installing apps, contacts, …

I have the Lem7 and Thor4 here in my hands and I can say that the thor4 does have a true 5mp camera opposed to the 2mp- software enhanced camera of the Lem7 (assuming it is enhanced at all). The physical size of the camera on the thor 4 is bigger and a different design and takes very noticeable better quality pictures and video. The camera on the thor pro seems physically and the same quality as the Lem7.

I can tell you that no matter what the software is - the hardware is the same in both LEM7 and Thor 4 - according to the people who make them. But now you have me wondering mate...... The external appearance of the camera means nothing at all unfortunately. An Android hardware info app from the play store should be able to confirm it. I'd be really interested to find out if it is a physically different camera because the manufacturer of the pcb solution for both watches tells me that it is the exact same hardware in both. Unfortunately we only have the LEM7 at the moment so I can't test. What really matters is how the experience is. So it's all good 👍👍

my first impression/experience of the Thor 4 :
After installing the new version and a factory reset I installed WLAN, google account incl. Synchronisation , whatsapp with a little testing, set Display timeout to 2 minutes and then :
Nothing possible anymore, the display was dark.
After a few seconds of panic I found out that the watch is out of battery ( from 91 % to 0 % ion about 1 hour, hm…
Now the watch is loading. I will leave it for 2-3 hours at the battery loader.

One question : Pablo11 gave the advice to enable usb debugging. Where can I find this setting ?

In watch settings, About Watch, developer options

By the way,
I will announce this in both threads…

The firmware from LEM7 and Thor 4 are absolutely interchange-able.

So you can flash the firmware from either watch to either watch. Even the pre-loader is the same.

I have tested this and I am using the Thor 4 firmware on my LEM7 at the moment without any problems at all…

Just thought you’d like to know

I like to install own watchfaces on my Thor4.
When connecting via USB to my WIn 10 PC you can see the Thor4 in the explorer, but a doubleclick has no reaction. I cannot see any data.

( with my old No.1 D5 this is no problem )
Do I have to install a special driver or do I have to change any settings to have access ?

Go to watch Settings, Connect, USB and enable file transfer - you have to be connected by usb to change it.

Thanks Pablo11, I was searching and searching,…, but you have to know that you have to be connected via USB to see this setting, Thanks again.

update:

WHen connecting to the PC there is an existing folder “clockskin” , where I put my old D5 Skins in. Do I have to dublicate the *.model.png to img_clock_preview.png to have the possibility to see/install them on the watch ? ( with Copy only I do not see these faces ).??

Well!!! I’ve received my thor 4 today and to be honest, I’m not impressed, compared to my domino dm98. the screen is brighter but the watch runs very hot, when I receive a call, it show up in the notification screen but I cant add the number to contact, the cellular network keep disappearing for no reason, the buttons feel cheap, the calender doesnt work as a calender. I must admit the gps is quite quick and thats working indoors. the camera seems to take some good pictures, When I first switch it on I got a message saying to update the software but I’m a bit scared to update in case it crashes like a few I’ve seen on here. I cant comment on the battery life yet since it takes a week for the new battery to get conditions. the volume isnt very loud, with the dm98 I could hold a conversation on the street and thats with the settings at 1/2 volume. By the way can you tell me where the setting is to lock the screen, I thought there would be a security headings somewhere but cant seems to find it

Remember it takes a good week for the battery to settle down.. I agree re the volume if it were say 25% higher.  Mine doesn't run hot though can make it if I run intensive applications.

Update the software!!! Then do a factory reset!  Much better experience, lower Bluetooth power consumption etc.

You can't lock the screen, although i'm sure there's an app for that if you wish.. Mind you hardly an issue if it's on your wrist.

I will be using it with certain apps installed which means I need to have some form of security on it, I will try the update, still cant figure out why it had network issues though, It was showing full signal strength but couldnt make or receive any calls

Install Settings Search for extra access to security settings - from the Play Store.
The signal needed to make calls is usually 3G. One problem with these watches is that they seem to default to 2G no matter what we do.
This was ok in China because 2G is available but not good for most of us who need 3G.
4G is data only on this design. Would be great if we could use it for calls but we can’t.
It’s something that needs to be addressed…
Cheers

There is a reason the cellular network disappears. If you turn on data and then turn it off the watch defaults to 2g. You have to goto settings/connect/cellular networks/preferred network type and set to 3g or 4g every time you turn of data. It's an annoying bug. Lets hope it gets fixed or people will return their watches not knowing a work around.

Yeah, as I said above your post - it's a real pain in the arse!! I'm trying to get them to change the default to 3G. At least that will fix it for most. 2G is almost completely phased out now. Except in China where it is the standard for phone calls....

I didnt make any changes to it, It was working then disappear from the cell network, It was showing full 4 bars but still wouldnt phone out or accept incoming calls, the phone gets piping hot when I put it on 3g so have to be using 2g. In the UK we are using 2g for the forseeable future since thats use for alarms, car tracking, smart meter and remote access. I've just tried it as I type and cant get on the network to make any calls, I might give it a week and go back to using the dm98. At least I know that works for calls even though I cant see the screen outdoors and the vibrate doesnt work

That is very strange…
So in the cellular connection settings you have set it to 4G preferred and 2G for calls?
That is the default option.
Have you updated the watch firmware OTA?
If so - did you make a factory reset?

Put the watch in 3g mode and turn off data. You should be good to go with out over heating.
