no no. Those 2 watches are different. Different cpu, different firmware. I have tryed to flash zeblaze thor 4 lte fw to my thor pro 3g without success. Only original fw reborned my watches.

Are you serious? Why would you flash this Thor 4 firmware on to a Thor Pro?

The LEM7 and Thor 4 are the same.

Nothing to do with Thor Pro… Completely different watch…

Here my experiences for the first 3/4 days ( in comparison to my old D5 ):
Plus : easy to use, oled display fine, easy to go to each app, 2G and 3G available…, better than my old D5
Wristband and quality seems to be better than the D5
Minus : battery not as good as expected ( 8-10 % per hour if 3G, WLAN, GPS is on ), may be its getting better after several reloads. ( same as my Old D5 ), no notification ( I don‘t know why there are no notifications, for examble updats from the play store, google maps, or something else ).

If the battery is getting better ( I hope ) this is a very good smartwatch. I like to get outside ( for one day / 24 hours ) without my smartphone, may be this will be possible in the future.

i have 24\7 3g and gps on and i get full 24hrs usage. you know that the updates and synchronization of apps drains the battery faster:) it is better to do so manually if you want better battery usage. (i have the lemfo lem7 but same hardware and software just different look).

notifications: are you using wiiwatch 2 or different app? i prefer m2d cos i can use it over 3g. about wiiwatch the last update which was’t suppose to be released yet is not stable so they are working to release the right update for it. with the old version it worked perfectly but i did’nt like to use it as i said prefer over 3g to get notifications.

***i will do a video about wiiwatch 2 and other videos especially regarding battery and my usage.

yes, sycle of charges should improve battery usage and btw, i try never let it turn off and never leave it for over night on charger.

Hi Sonia. I’ve been waiting for your tips video to maximize battery life

nekojiru55

i’ve started to upload videos about the watches:)

/thread/2404/videos?page=1&scrollTo=23007

If you really want to save battery then use Macdroid.

I get a call , my bluetooth engages. I just turn on my headset and I’m connected.

Call disconnects, bluetooth is automatically switch off…

I can use my cell tower locations to engage or disengage wifi.

Shake to auto anything… Such as auto brightness on or off or conditional.

Manu more tweaks.

Ohh also floating launcher is invaluable

As well as button mapper.

I actually have an awesome usa long lasting device now. All on my wrist.

Water proof is my only wish.

Hi everyone, received my Zeblaze Thor 4 yesterday and am starting to get to know it reasonably well.

First impressions are: very nicely made, WiFi and 4G connectivity is very good. It finds and holds a signal as well as my Moto G4 smartphone and in some instances slightly better. Connectivity here in the UK on 2G, 3G and 4G cellular is as good as any smartphone. Basically I have a lot of poor signal locations in my area and the antennas and receiver are clearly well designed as it’s working everywhere I’d hope it would and a few places I didn’t expect it to. Download and upload speeds on 4G cellular and WiFi are excellent. Audio quality via it’s speaker is clear and reasonably loud but I’m waiting to pass judgement on the microphone, need some more feedback in that area.

The Android 7 OS on it works very well and is fast and smooth via the touchscreen. The screen goes from nice and dim for night time use to bright enough for use in sunlight. Resolution is very good and colours are sharp. The camera appears to be a true 5Mp sensor and takes pretty decent pictures. Droid Info is showing the max resolution as 2560 x 1920. The video appears to be full HD with vibrant colours and pretty sharp but I suspect the frame rate is fairly low (I’m only guessing but I’d suspect around 25-30fps, I may be wrong). Droid Info giving supported video resolution as 1920 x 1080 Full HD but no mention of frame rates…

It does not do bluetooth calling out of the box.

It does connect to Wiiwatch2 and seems to work fine on it (my phone is running Android 7.1)

It connects without issue to all my bluetooth, headsets, speakers, earbuds and also the bluetooth hands free system in my car. Call and audio quality via all of them has been truly excellent. “Ok Google” handsfree spoken commands are working superbly both via the watches internal speaker and microphone but especially via the in car bluetooth CD/Radio system. Once I’d paired it, all I have to do now is turn on bluetooth on the watch, get in the car and drive off. The stereo unit connects to the watch automatically, the music (saved to the phones internal storage) starts playing and I can then adjust volume or change tracks via the steering wheel controls. If I want to make a handsfree call I just say "Ok Google, (wait for the vibration on my wrist) and then say “Call [name of person] mobile” and it dials the number via the car stereo and the call is then via the cars internal mic and speakers. Couldn’t be clearer or easier. Working far better than I was hoping. I have no reason to doubt that the spoken Google Maps navigation directions from the watch will also stream nicely via the cars bluetooth music system.

My only concern so far is the battery. After its first charge I was obviously using it a lot whilst learning, exploring and setting things up but it still went flat in about 4 hours. For a first charge and under very heavy use I wasn’t too surprised however I was concerned when it really struggled to charge from there. It got to around 20% and then stuck for several hours. In the end I decided something wasn’t right and after 2 complete resets and finally a hard reset I turned everything off, put the screen on dimmest setting and it started charging better and I left it for a full overnight charge to 100%. Today has been a very long day and I’ve had to charge it twice from flat to 100%. Now that might not sound very good but it’s been on 4G data and/or WiFi plus bluetooth for most of that time. I’ve also spent about 30 minutes on 4G calls and another 30 minutes on VOIP data calls and about 5 hours streaming music via bluetooth. So in 17 hours it’s been in heavy use for about 13 of those hours and charging for the other 4. It takes about 2 hours to charge to 100% from nearly flat (10 - 15%). With every charge it seems to be gaining endurance and lasting longer each time so I suspect in a day or so and under more typical lighter use I should get a full day out of an overnight charge.

All in all, so far so good and very pleased with it.

Any questions about it feel free to ask.

Regards,

Goaty.

I have had to send my Thor 4 back to BangGood. When I attempted to speak over my mic to people when they called me or I called them they could not understand a word I was saying. The sound was garbled and muffled with phantom background noises. I am awaiting a replacement unit, I really hope its a one off lemon and not indicative of the quality of the mic across all the Thor 4 units. I put a youtube clip on with showing me calling my home phone and the unintelligible result.

You are the first person to have this microphone problem so hopefully it is a one off.....

I get proper notifications on my watch. When a text arrives the screen lights up and displays the message perfectly.
To get it working you have to install Heads Up Notifications from the Play Store.
Configure the app to turn the screen on and that’s it, done.

Works on all of our watches and does a great job.

play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.messaging&hl=en from playstore. Great for Lem7 or Thor 4 (or any watch for that matter) if you want to view or send MMS messages. Add free. Be in square mode or not and enjoy

Another little point regarding the Thor 4 and BT calling - or rather the lack of it. Prior to the Thor 4 arriving I've been using a cheapest of the cheap dual mode tethering watch and rather enjoyed the BT tethering function whereby I could make, but more importantly receive calls either via the watch's internal SIM or via my smartphone over bluetooth. If I was just popping into town it was also quite liberating to leave the smartphone behind and just wear my watch knowing it had a working SIM in it so I could make calls if needed. Obviously though unless I took the smatphone with me or swapped the SIM over I couldn't receive calls on my normal smartphone number. Anyway, from studying all the marketing blurb regarding the Thor 4 it was clear that Bluetooth calling was unlikely to be available at launch on the Thor 4 and possibly not for some time if ever. As a result I seriously considered one of the 3G watches that does have BT calling functionality but in the end decided it was a very nice to have but not a deal breaker. That's not to say I've not been missing the function though.

So with that in mind I’ve been looking for a workaround. Now for me, the key selling point of a smartwatch is I want a watch that can take the place of my smartphone with regards essential calls and messages so I don’t feel compelled to lug the phone around with me everywhere I go. I also don’t want a phone in my pocket when I’m cycling, working on the car or simply getting in and out of the car every few minutes. I don’t want to leave it in the car for obvious reasons but also I don’t want to carry it in my hand or carry a bag for it. So it’s usually in my back pocket and has morphed into one of those funky banana shaped curved phones as a result of me forgetting it was there when I sat down. Amazingly it still works fine but I think I got away lightly there. However, getting back to the issue of leaving the smartphone at home and not missing calls or swapping SIMs around. The solution for me has proved remarkably simple. My contract for my normal Mbl number and the SIM that lives in my smartphone gives me unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and about 6Gb of data. The key bit is the unlimited minutes. So what I’ve done is simply set it to “divert to [my Thor 4 SIM number] when unreachable”. As soon as my smartphone has no signal (or I turn it off) then calls are diverted (using my unlimited free minutes) to my Thor 4. I tried it earlier and it works a treat other than caller ID shows me as the caller no matter who is calling. Not sure what happens with regards texts but I shall see what happens tomorrow.

The good news now is that when we’re about to set off cycling tomorrow I can turn my smartphone off and either leave it behind, or pack it away in something safe and watertight. Any calls that come through to my normal number, will then divert to my watch until I decide to turn my smartphone back on again. Result!

Did you quote this post for a reason?

If I keep my watch full charged in region with good signal it last 2 days in stand-bay easy otherwise in max 10h of stand-by is dead.

Any advice/fix please?

kaminoreal

do you mean it changes by itself from 2g to 4g? that is most likely because the region you in does’nt support 2g bands so it automatically search for the bands it does, most countries today do’nt use anymore 2g (sadly) bands but you should recieve either way calls and sms. disable 4g it is’nt needed and only use it when you want to download something faster when you outside and leave it on 3g.

soniasophie9697 It changes from 4g/3g to 2g(I guess) when no 4g/3g signal and remains stuck on 2g since it can’t find any 2g network until I do the airplane trick, and no I can’t get any calls/messages when is like that plus it drains the battery very quick.
I disabled LTE and 4g and set to 3g only, lets see how it performs, but as far I remember I tried and was the same.

most likely the draining happens because it tries to stay connected to any band, can you check if it happens in any erea you go?

On area with signal is OK, problem is on those with low or no signal, I guess it has some timeout for searching networks and then it gets stuck in some kind of “no network” mode, this timeout in theory may be good for battery life but with the down side of not receive anything even you are after this in area with signal.
You can easy test this putting the watch in some improvised faraday case, you will see that after it enter in that mode the only way to get it out and join a network is to either flip airplane mode or go to settings and manual search for network.
IMHO this is a major bug.

The firmware team are working on a fix for the default network problem.
It is a matter of time.
I’ll let you know when it is done.

Cheers

I just bought the Zeblaze Thor 4. I purchased a SIM card from Speedtalk wireless which is on the T-Mobile network. I have configured the Watch according to the APN settings that the SIM card provider sent me and it still does not work for 3G/4G data. I inserted the SIM card into an unlocked Adnroid phone and edited the APN settings in the phone and it worked just fine.

What should I do to get the 3G and 4G Data working on the Thor 4 smartwatch? Thanks much for your help!
