The chipset supports Band 20 but it was never calibrated to work with it. Bands are 1, 3, 5 and 8 in all models

after trying to push the Taobao to confirm the CD55 Max supports band 20 received the reply this this info comes from the manufacturer, from another source (a Chinese seller on WeChat said it supports it but not working yet)
so thereās a chance a software update could add B20?

by flashing the nv partition it is possible to add
but cd55max have no usb, and ota can not write to that partition
@Honda_NSR as mentioned here by @Noispirit and as @AILIFE says, itās not going to be addressed by the seller because the firmware is where the modem configuration is and OTA cannot write to the partition required for this.
To get this done, the OEM will need to provide a new firmware version that will need to be flashed with the correct flash tool - from a PC directly to the watch.
However, unless the OEM gets literally overwhelmed with requests for a new firmware by the bulk buying brands that are buying these, itās not going to happen 
An OTA is not a cheap request for the brands to the OEM. A full flash tool firmware is cheaper but has to be distributed manually.
Until we get a relationship with the OEM (and thatās probably unlikely) we canāt even communicate end user frustration with existing firmware or available bands for cellular.
its easy to get it and is easy to flash for most model, just not the cd55max which is just the worst model for flashing

Can we get the factory firmware files then? Or are you referring to read back backups? For most basic users, they will be looking for the official factory firmware. That would be awesome if it can happen 
the backup is exactly the same as factory flash file, it is just more complicated to package into .pac format, the files is exactly the same, just one extra step to package, and we are all at capacity no one can do it

and the modern flash tool does not even support .pac format, so you need to somehow decompress it first even, i dont understand why do you want
and for this case, it is useless as pac anyways, only one partition file is needed which can be used on any w527 device insted of make million of firmware because watch come in different batch is not compatible and there is one model every month
i have to say the way you did it is the most stupid way , but you dont have to deal with new model every month, and back in android 7 days, there is no gsi, so you are forced to do it
but time have changed, we have universal system for all model, which means the flash tool need to be more fine grained, to only flash one partition, and .pac is just useless for that, you have to accept it is not your prime time any more, this is the meta
if your watch is completely bricked, black screen, need to restore, you also do not need pac file, you can have folder with all partition and use write_parts command and itll flash all in automatically and you can unbrick it still, without needing pac, so i dont see there is any benefit in it

I donāt need anything. Iām just talking about the regular end users and what they understand / expect to see.
Please be aware that Iām referring to the majority of the members here and not the more technically minded.
Personally, I have no interest in this because it doesnāt apply to me. Iām quite happy with read back backups as a source of firmware if I need it. Using read back firmware was the first way we used to do this back in 2014. Before I got engaged with the OEMs for some of the watches.
Itās a little like going full circle within 12 years 
for normal user, there is no difference using factory .pac or lose partition too
there is one click flash tool file that can automatically flash all the partition when you connect the watch
so it is not any more difficult my using lose files, and for us that have a file every week, save allot of time to package it
one click flash tool you just need to put partition you want to flash in the folder, if you need flash system only then put system, nv if you want, or extract the zip of all partition and put inside
and then click the flash tool to start it, hold two button of watch when it is off and connect to pc and release button, wait untill watch reboot, is this simple, ofc on pc you need driver if you use windows
in your days there is no thing as mtkclient too, which we have now, and so no one use spflashtool any more, mtkclient is just superior
with unisoc and asr, it is same now, we have superior flash tool, so we no longer need the partition table, verification file etc
only flash system, compared to flash everything including bootloader, when you dont need it, it is obvious which is safer andd faster
