By all means buy if you want but I must remind people that we can’t support it.
No firmware.
No help with customer support etc…

Having said that, people seem to like it and it is very cheap.
So not a huge loss if it melts after a couple of weeks - months.
Unfortunate circumstances…

Does this support face unlock?

I have no idea. We don’t support the device.
But maybe one of the people who own it can advise you.

No it does not. Thanks

People, these devices are not certified and never will be.
Therefore anything that is security related is blocked by the play services security scanner - Play Protect.
No need to ask any further questions about this.

I know almost nothing about these watches, dude. I’ve seen other faws with face unlock, so I was simply wondering if this one had it too.

I don’t even know what you not “supporting the device” or the devices being “certified” even means. I’m new to the space. I was just asking a question.

Is this not a forum about full android watches in general, or is it about a project more specific than that?

Is there a FAQ thread if this is something that is asked a lot? And a thread about the purpose of this forum so I know what not to ask?

Hello, my s998 arrived today, and I have already installed U.L. 3.7 but it is not reading the weather data, any suggestions?

Permission problem probably.
It needs to be allowed to have restricted access to data.
Look for it in advanced permissions.
The launcher has its own built in weather system so it just needs network access.

But in version 3.6 I don’t have this problem

The weather provider has changed in 3.7. you shouldn’t use the old version. Permission are the same, maybe a reboot will solve it.

Hello everyone. I have my replacement watch in hand (I ordered a new one from a different seller after I received my refund)
This time around, the watch is working way better for me. I think the first unit I had must have been defective in some way.
Anyways… I can confirm that the watch works with data and SMS (VoLTE NOT working)
here in the USA with T-Mobile.
If you guys want me to try to test anything for you, let me know.
As far as I am aware, all US carriers now require VoLTE capable devices in order to make calls. T-Mobile, however, WILL allow a non VoLTE device enabled to connect to their network and be able to use data and SMS. I doubt this watch will work with AT&T or Verizon, but if anyone out there really wants me to try let me know.

Edit: VoLTE is actually NOT working for me. Despite all VoLTE and 4G calling related settings being enabled, calls always switch to “G” once I dial a number. If I force the device to LTE only mode, then I can no longer place calls. Unfortunate, but this is not a big deal to me as I only plan to use Google Voice and other VoIP type apps on the watch anyways.

Now that I’m looking at my screenshot, it appears that it actually switched to “G” during the call (Which is GPRS/2G, not LTE, right??)
I’ll see if I can force it to LTE only mode and report back.

What is being referred to (I assume) is the Google Play store certification.
As you can see from my screenshot, it is failing the CTS profile match.
I registered my framework ID here at the link below. I’m hoping I can get lucky by registering it with Google and I’ll check back later and see if it is certified.
