Very strange! that after installing the “Universal Launcher” the icon for Oximeter (SPO2) appears, although normally there is no such thing in the original menu of the watch! When I bought my smart watch, the seller told me that it has the function for SPO2, only that in the menu (not even in the system applications) there is no application for this function, I was very surprised that I pressed the icon from “Universal” Launcher" menu and the sensor lit up and I could even find out the oxygen saturation in the blood. The only app installed on the watch was the heartbeat (heart rate) monitor. I would really like to know the name of the app for SPO2 because I searched in Google play and other app stores but I didn’t find anything that works with the watch sensor (many are made for the phone). I don’t have the DW89, but an ISEN DM 60 smart watch (similar to the Lemfo DM60). I’m probably offtopic, but I saw the discussion above about “HWatchLauncher” and “Dial Market” My smartwatch uses the same apps normally! I searched the forum for topics like “Lemfo DM60” or other brands with similar smart watches, but I see that no one has such a thing! (or they didn’t open a topic for this).
Yep, that’s because it is unsupported software which has been altered by the manufacturer.
Basically it means it has been side loaded by the brand and does not use the regular process for installed apps.
You get what you pay for I guess.
i almost bought that tic watch pro 3 LTE myself, in the end, lack of camera, the e-sim technology, and wear OS, put me off, despite it being stunning value at the moment, £99 in the UK
however, while researching the e-sim issue, and getting very frustrated about it, i came across this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/WearOS/comments/w8sc0l/guide_how_to_activate_any_esim_in_any_wear_os/
no idea if it works of course !
Basically, even if the Esim becomes active - if the correct carrier config files are not included in the firmware then you are stuffed.
Voice calls will automatically revert to 3G because volte is not available.
I think we all know what’s happening with 3G.
It’s happening globally.
It is exactly the same problem with all of the supported watches as well.
VoLTE works fine in China because the config files are standard and easily accessible.
Unfortunately in 80% of the world, carriers have specific requirements and these are not easily available in China.
I have tried so many different providers over the years and I only found one PAYG service worked. I was visiting the UK and used a PAYG Sim for a couple of months.
Every other provider does not connect
Btw just wondering that do the stock launchers from other full android smart watches would work on other smart watch or on my phone? And if not why?
Yes they do.
Unless your device has a heavily customised / reduced Android system.
For example, I have an Android Nothing phone 2.
Third party launchers work fine.
Including the Universal Launcher.
They also work fine on the watches we support here.
Like the Optimus 2 or the LEM 14, 15, 16 and many other products.
Basically a real FULL ANDROID WATCH will be able to use any custom third party software. Even if it doesn’t display properly on a round screen - it still works.
It clearly demonstrates that the cheap and nasty Android 8.1 (and some Android 9) devices which have firmware designed by people who don’t understand why it is important to keep the solid system foundations of Android intact, will be frustrating to so many people
Hi guys, sorry to jump on this chat, but I have the same watch (at least it appears to be the very same) Android 8.1 and very basic watch faces. I read about this app you have mentioned (clocksin). My question is: Where do I download it / install it from? Is that all I need in order to change watch faces?
Sorry for the many questions, but I am totally new to android watch.
Your android 8.1 watch wont have a " clockskin " folder to put in the clockskins you download from this site. You will need to create one
Thank you very much Dr Andy, I have installed the launcher, so now I have to create a folder in the android file system root directory and call it clockskin, correct? Then download the watch face from here and place it inside that folder so that I will be able to use the watch face?
Correct yes
Don’t forget to grant all permissions and exclude Universal Launcher from power saving.
Sure, will do, thanks.
