@Dr_Andy_Vishnu … if I had my ā€œdruthersā€ about the Max S right now I would ask for 2 things…

  1. to make imported images used as a image background for the watch-face don’t ā€˜stretch to fit’ the screen which spoils\distorts the image.

  2. for the audio speaker volume to be louder for receiving phone calls. It’s ok but in my opinion could be a little louder. (it may be a speaker size or casing limitation … although the volume on my Prime SE is a quite a bit louder)

Other than that … it’s very good.

Hi . In WFD you can use the scale option to make the image bigger or smaller ( doesnt distort the image at all )

Point 2 - Yes i’ll report this . I had a call through my car kit and way too low at full volume :+1:

Ok @Dr_Andy_Vishnu thanks again … I have completed my first (and really basic) watch-face and installed in to the Max S and to my surprise … it works! Edge to edge and all.

But, I have run into a separate issue.

I wanted to make some edits to the new design and when importing the new clock-skin into WFD it loads the watch-skin as a ā€œsquareā€ design instead of a rectangle and parts of it are cut off on both sides.
I know how to start a new layer with rectangular measurements which is how I got stated on my completed face image but I cannot see how to load an existing skin as the original rectangle. Arghh.

Did you set the size at 555 x 400 when you started ?

If you mean when I started the original file then yes …, as I mentioned, the end result worked just fine when installed in my watch … I wanted to add some extra fetures and it’s on reloading the same file into WFD which loads up as a square instead of rectangle.

If you untick " square " does it go back to rectangle ? I do this in my sleep but away from my Pc so its difficult :joy:

I’m sorry, I don’t have ā€˜square’ as a menu option choice to untick (that I can see)

…only ā€˜roundface’ or ā€˜flat tyre’

When reloading the XML wfd save file it should open in rectangular. Anyway, have you hit the ā€œwatch sizeā€ button and forced the 600x400 size ?

Hello Eric, thanks so much for your input. No, I haven’t forced 600x400 and will definitely go an do that and post a result asap. Sincerely appreciate the advice here across the board guys. Cheers.

I guess it’s gonna be along road for me to learn this stuff.
I must be doing something radically wrong. I tried forcing 600x400 but unless I missed a trick nothing changed.

a) If I click file\open and load the watchface designer file I get the error " An uncaught problem has occurred, details are written to the log file".

b) If I click file\import clockskin and simply hit the folder\directory where my clockskin file\s are located (selecting just the folder\directory only) … WFD does open the file with it’s components but as a ā€˜square’ and of course the sides are cut off.

The surprising thing to me is that the end product of the clockskin installs and works fine on my Ticwris Max 6?? So for the moment I am a bit lost. :slight_smile:

wfd is not really made for rectangular sizes, some updates could have been done for this. But as Marco is missing, only he, can work on this.

I know what you are doing wrong but i need to be near to my Pc . At the very very start you need to set face size to 555 x 450 ( or 400 ) i cannot remember . When making face save to desktop . A .xml file will appear . This is the file you reload into wfd ( not any other files ) . I think you have been making a clockskin and loading a file from within the clockskin folder ( this wont work )

Thanks Dr (and Eric) … I did actually set the original face size to 533 x 400 and this seemed to contribute to the 1st watch-face actually working ok to install it, however, it’s reloading for editing is where I continue to have the (square) issue.
If @Dr_Andy_Vishnu once you get to your pc if you can outline a basic 1-2-3 step procedure to load it in for editing I would greatly appreciate that. Cheers to you both!

The first line of your XML file should look like this :
<WatchFaceDesign width="600" height="400" round="false">

Thanks @Eric_Crochemore … I will check that in wha I’ve done so far and keep an eye out to ensure it remains the case until I get the hang of things. Cheers.

Or course . It will be late tonight :+1: as i’m working

Funny enough … me too

New - uncheck perfect circle - change width to 533 - leave height at 400 - click accept - uncheck round face .

Click on save
File name - fill in box
Click on save to desktop

The file you have just saved is the file you can load into WFD for editing etc

Thanks
