The Genesis - from Kronos Blade

I have a Genesis on order and have a couple of questions.

  1. What is the watch band size. I’d like to get a stretchable velcro band.
  2. I assume the outward facing camera photos are in the wide (landscape mode). True?

Thanks in advance.

Hi mate,
I don’t have anything with me at the moment to measure the width of the strap but it is the wider type… Like the Prime and others. At a guess I’d say 23 - 24mm.
I’ll have to measure it and give you an update.
The camera at the 12 o’clock position is the wide angle camera or “main” camera.
The front facing camera at the 9 o’clock position is for video calls and face unlock.

Hope this helps for now…

Ok, it’s definitely 24mm. Confirmed now.
Apologies for the delay.

Hi Pablo11
i have a question about the quality of the smartwatch case. Are there any improvements ? In my previous smartwatches ( neptune pine, No 1 D5, Zeblaze Thor_4 ) there were significant cracks in the case after about 1 year, or in the D5 torn bracelets. Ok, the bracelet can be changed now, but what about the quality of the cases? What is your experience with the Genesis ?

I think it is a very strong construction.
I have had no issues with it.

thanks, Pablo !

All the same issues with poor quality plastic that I have experienced with the Zeblazes I have owned…cracks everywhere, the band just detached itself from the casing yesterday on my Thor 4 Dual (I made a post with pics yesterday). I am concerned that the plastic casing on the Genesis is from the same suppliers as Zeblaze’s. I would love to know if it is different or not? Also why can’t we have metal casing like the old Thor Pro? Much more durable!!!

You can’t have metal casing with internal antenna and removable straps. It just eats battery trying to improve the signal due to the interference.
This body on the Genesis is fine. If you are talking about the Sim cover - mine has been fine for a long time…

I made my order today, my fingers are crossed that it lasts past 1 year. The Transflective display is a deal maker for me. The ability to use it in full sunshine is a necessity. A metal case as with the Thor Pro would have made me more confident of it’s durability. I have no issues with antenna reception for my phone calls on my Thor Pro. But the Bluetooth isn’t as good as the Thor 4 Dual…yet that may just be due to the Bluetooth version. With the Australian dollar so rubbish this is a big outlay for me and the Thor 4 Dual wasn’t cheap when I got it less than 10 months ago :frowning:

I looked for a solution for this for the Thor Pro but had no luck. I was hoping the Genesis had a built in solution. Oh well. Can it be done in a firmware update?

I just made my order. Hope now that the quality is really better than with my Thor, D5,…
I can’t wait to have the Genesis in my hands ( or on my arm ).

Not talking about sim cover, my experience with 3 different plastic case watches from Zeblaze is cracks developing from the charging pins and spreading out from there, obviously due to expansion and shrinking of the metal charging pins and poor quality plastic. I even have had a pin fall out of the watch leaving it un-chargeable!

well i’ve been away for along time after my disappointment with the Kospet Hope i gained confidence again watching the Genesis kronos video’s and the input of some of you the make a nice reliable watch gave it a shot again and I ordered both a Spovan and The Genesis Kronos. Obviously The Genesis promises to have a much better customer care.

Big shout out to Jason and Pablo to make things happen

will see how it goes

New here, just made my order too, hopefully it arrives in the next month or two but we’re under lockdown here in Spain too so… Plus will have to go to my USA address and then forwarded out here to Spain via MilAir… just sitting tight for now. Hoping this will work well with Vodafone OneNumber so 0 issue at all with bluetooth calling and texting since with a SIM in any calls or text will go right to both devices or that is what I’m led to believe from a setup with a shared number. Will be awesome to be able to go out and not have to lug a phone around if I need to like the beach or a run with full connectivity and fitness suite. Even if the watch winds up being meh the earbuds, 3000mah power bank and 3 real nice watch straps are worth well over $100USD anyway.

I am not intending to disappoint you but you might want to check the Vodaphone (VP) web site to check the device eligibility, in case you want to change your mind. I tried to log on, to check eligibility but it requires a VP logon to access the site.
As is typical with the multi use capability it requires one of their devices that is compatible. The only watches referenced on the Vodaphone web page is the Samsung Gear and Apple Watch, which is typical of these providers.
It has been my personal experience with AT&T and Xfinity Mobile and other people have indicated that none of these Full Android watches are eligible or compatible with these plans. It normally only works with a watch or tablet that you buy from them or watches that must have the software pre-installed.
With my AT&T tablet the software necessary to use the same number called “numbersync” comes installed and is not an app you can add on.
Good luck and stay safe over there. I have a friend at Rota.
