S10Pro International firmware - update from SD Card (No FlashTools) - Suitable for LEM14 2021.06.26

I’m also find battery draining more quickly.

Cheers.

@akirax23
Compared to v1.0…?

V1.1 is using more power than v1.0?

I can’t confirm…

Yes, compared to v1.0.

With v1.0 I would have at this time over 90% battery life but actually I’ve 54%. Same programs and configurations also in same scenario, from my home to work and from work to home.

Installed v1.1 same day that you post it.

Battery draining can be because any updated app, but I don’t know.

Cheers.

I’m starting to notice this as well. I’m tempted to flash back to stock and then update back to the 1.0 as it seemed to be better on the battery. I could go all day and only be down to 60% but since updating to 1.1, I’m down to 80% in 3 hours. By midday, I’m already down to 60% and putting it back on the charger.

Also, the fact that the battery charging screen is gone is becoming increasingly annoying…it’s already finicky enough to get this thing on the charger WITH the charging screen…but with it gone it’s practically untenable. I woke up this morning and found my battery down to 30%…because it wasn’t on the charger right. I’m probably going to do the downgrade today as I’m struggling to get along with 1.1. :frowning:

I’m gonna give it some more time before I do that to see if anything changes.

As I said in the top post - if you have any problems make a factory reset before reporting it.

Have you done this?
I am asking because I have factory reset mine and I don’t see any difference with battery drain.

So now I am very curious.

Battery issues? See above.
As for the charging all you need to do is swipe down from the watch face screen to see if the battery is charging…?
How can this be worse than having a badly implemented charging screen that caused many other problems because of the overlay?

I never had any of the issues others had with the charging screen. I am being a bit lazy but when I need to do more steps when I previously did not have too sucks. :stuck_out_tongue:

And yes, I factory reset again. However, today things seem much improved. Maybe it was because the battery drained so much last night? I’m only down 7% after almost 3 hours which seems much more on par with normal. I’m going to keep my eye on it but It looks like I’m not going to go nuclear on it today.

At some point i noticed battery drain…

But since the last update and factory reset… battery life seems to be normal …

Regarding the battery charging screen… i agree with you its a bit annoying without it … but we have to do without it to gain all the nice feature of new update…

Perhaps it can be re impleminted by our great programming team from scratch without depending on the old buggy app or code… ( which -by the way- i never had problem with it )

Anyway thanks for your efforts

I’ve designed a couple of watchfaces with loading animation in the past, but haven’t published them. Perhaps this could become relevant now, for others too…

Regarding the battery life, after testing the version 21/5/2021, the legacy 1.0 and version 1.1 is notorious, the longest duration on the 21/5/2021, however, the version 1.1 has a much better duration than the firmware stock. every time I have tried any of the versions, the factory reset has been done and the same apps have been used for the same time

For those with battery problems, it would be helpful if you could provide a bugreport:

You know what is funny?
The firmware is actually exactly the same in the two zips in the first post.
The only difference is a certificate

Yes. That’s really funny!

Yeah, so I’ve been doing some digging. I installed AccuBattery and have it monitoring. It looks like the culprit here may be the updated Universal Launcher (3.5.2) which I installed right after updating to 1.1. I switched back to stock launcher for a bit and will monitor further to see what happens. If the drain stops, I’ll let Eric know and confirm here as well.

I should note that soon after posting earlier, the drain started. I’m already under 50%

Update: Nope, that’s not it either. I lost another 10% since posting and I haven’t even used it in the meantime. I’ll get you a logcat bug report in a bit. It’s currently saying it will be dead by 9:15pm. That’s crazy especially considering I took it off the charger at 12pm.

@none Here’s a bug report as requested.

Thanks for the logcat.
It will be interesting to see if there is a problem especially as the firmware is the same as I said above.

I should also say that if UL is causing a battery drain, it is something that we have no control over and Eric is also in a transitional phase with his own build environment, as he says in his support thread.

UL 3.5.2 was causing a big drain for me also after first installing it, but after rebooting it went back to normal.

The device is basically not going into standby anymore, there is a permanent wakelock on ‘bluetooth_timer’.
You have any application installed that permanently uses bluetooth?

Yeah, Watch Droid Assistant. However, I did another wipe yesterday and installed all my apps except Outlook. Today, my battery is back to normal. I took it off the charger at 7:45am and it’s now 2pm with 80%. So if it was BT, it MUST have been Watch Droid doing something it normally doesn’t as I have been using that since day 1.

What were you looking for in the logs? I haven’t tried to troubleshoot battery issues myself before. I’d like to be able to do that should the issue arise again. That would let me possibly troubleshoot further without wiping…again. :stuck_out_tongue:

Unrelated: I DO have a Rogbid Brave Pro I purchased as a backup should I need it. If no one has tried to verify the International Firmware Update on that device, let me know. I’ll pull it off the shelf and give it a go and let you know what the results are. Is there link to the original firmware from Rogbid for that in case I need to sp flash back? I just ran some searches but came up empty.
