So, what firmware are you using?

Firmware FAW V1.3 RC1

Thanks Pablo, shortcut app is not really possible…so it offerts an alternative with ##3646633… but it is a limited set of functions ,and SERVICES are not incluses …how to contact you with MP ??

Other question,the keyboard available in the AT tool is limited to digitS, how to do to generate comma, for the lettres I enter several digits but for comma and +, I fail …
Who hnows if the nvram backup works on this watch ? I tried with sp flashtool getting the location adress and the Size from the scatter file used for flashing the FAW Firmware v1.3 but nothing appears when you click on the read back Button …thanks for your help

you have to first press the readback button and then connect the watch (while it is off), then you will see the progress at the bottom

Also, some newer versions of the flash tool do not support readback.
But it sounds like you have the option :+1:

Thanks a lot, it works fine that way, but I Guess the different parameters are encoded ,is there a file description of thèse parameters ??

so the readback worked and now you want to find some specific parameters inside the file? I’m sorry, but I don’t know how to do that

Thanks, you are right…

@Sergio256

If you have the ROM0 file from the readback you can open it with 7zip. Nothing else needed.

To get all the partition details there is another function that SP Tools can do.

I believe it is memory read or something like that (it has been a long time, sorry)
Hovatech is useful site for finding out these things.

Thanks Pablo, the extension of the file you get with a readback is “IMG”, Can not be opened with 7 zip , and I do not find other alternative with SP .
the watch Can not be accessed through mtk droid tool as the file structure seems to be unknown for mtk droid tools, may be a specific format for the watch as it works fine with 3 différent smartphones ( Asus, Xiaomi 9, …)
MOD EDIT - Do not mention these again or you will be suspended.
You have been told more than enough times about this.!!

@Sergio256
If you have done your homework, you will know that Droid tools will not work for A10.
Please note:

  1. if you modify any image file and flash it - watch will not boot. They are all signed and have a hash integrity check.

  2. when you use readback, it is to take a backup of the whole system which results in a ROM0 file which can be opened with 7zip. Inside is a dump of all the image files. It is designed to be flashed all at once to keep integrity.

  3. pulling a single image is pointless due to point 1 above.

  4. if you are trying to achieve a backup of the nvdata partition, you should be able to pull it out from a complete dump of the rom. If nothing is changed then there is a very small chance that you can try to restore it. But this would be by flashing all the image files at the same time and you would need a modified scatter file due to the fact that protect1 & protect2 are listed as Download=no in the scatter file.

I guess I am struggling to understand what you are trying to achieve by doing this?

Using the firmware upgrade option in the flash tool creates a temporary backup of nvdata, specifically for the purpose of pushing it back during the flash of upgraded firmware. But you will not be able to see it because it is a protected process. In A10 structure I’m pretty sure it is called “protect2” not nvdata.

So what exactly are you trying to achieve?
MTK engineering shortcut app works as long as as USB debugging is enabled. But the purpose of the engineering functions is mainly to test functionality and adjust cellular bands, or clear GPS data.

All these things that you have been trying to do have not been possible since Android 5.1 and to some extent, A7.1.
None of these things will work for A10.

If all of this is about IMEI - you really need to research it as I said before. Use the Web to research MTK IMEI problems.

If it is not about that, what are you trying to do?

hi Pablo,
Thanks a lot for all these explanations and the time you spent for this answer , you are right I am not a specialist of Android systems but normally due to my experience in HW and SW development on several other platforms I should be able to understand :wink: :wink: :wink: except if my old brain is becoming weaker and weaker with the time spending :worried:;
I understand you easily guess I am trying to get data services on my watches.
I have been looking for solutions on internet as you mention it but up to now all solutions I tested do not work, so that is why I wanted to get one parameter of the nvram , then with a dump modify it and pushing it back in the watch but due to the protection it is probably not so simple.
From you answer, do the flash tool compute a security code for the firm including the nvdata before pushing back the firmware or is it a security code dedicated only to the nvdata ?

From my answer, you must NOT alter any images. End of story!!
It has nothing to do with modifying any image in the firmware.
I don’t know how many more times I have to say - Search For MTK IMEI Problem

That is all we can say about it.
To be honest, it would be a lot easier to get a different Sim which does not have this problem.

So the bottom line is - forget about the IMEI unless you understand the correct method.
HINT - it has nothing to do editing or modifying an image.
I just searched for it and the solution is almost immediately found.

I apologise for being so abrupt about discussing any tools used for this purpose - but, at the end of the day we will be punished for allowing it.

This is only done during a firmware upgrade to protect your data. It is not a method that can be used to change anything.

You need to look more carefully.
Don’t search for anything apart from - Fixing MTK IMEI Problem.
