Today Finow released a new update which is 12.40 MB. Update has some bug fixes.
Don’t do it. Ran update and within 5 minutes on the charger the watch overheated.
Thank you for the warning.
UPDATE
Possible fix - Accept OTA, factory reset. I have not tested to see if it still overheats when connected to a PC, but it looks like you can at least charge it.
UPDATE - there are 2 different OTAs out there.
If you are coming from FW version 20160927 the OTA is 13.5mb.
If you took the OTA version 20161017 then the new OTA is only 12.4mb in size.
I have installed the 13.5mb version and so far have no heating issues.
So it would appear that the smaller version is the trouble maker…
I have notified Finow and we need as much info as possible so please let us know here.
Thanks

last week i got the 13.5mb update and now the 12.4 but still did'nt do the update.
The one I got today was 13.5mb coming straight from 27th September firmware. So far it’s been fine. It seems to be the smaller update which causes the issue. Anyway, I have given all the information to Finow so we’ll see what happens.
I am still struggling with battery life…on any given update

Is not advisable to update the version of 12.41mb? I hope to come out a new update?
The main thing which no one has mentioned about last week’s update is that it removes the possibility to mute the watch!
Previously, when you long pressed the home button you got a quick menu where you could mute, among other things. For some inexplicable reason they chose to change that menu so now instead you can choose between displaying 3rd party apps in a round or square screen, something which was already possible in the main menu. But muting isn’t. So they duplicated one function and removed the mute function!
Can someone with connections please see if they can change it back to the way it was?
I actually like square screen at power menu.
Did OTA yesterday (this 12mb), no heating while charged/un charged. Didn’t check if heating while connected to PC.
Mine is running fine with both recent updates, nice and cool.
Battery is charging at 77 F
I cannot seem to get a break with my battery…abysmal battery life

what you need to do is to reset the watch and do'nt install nothing for now and see how the battery behave without notifications and no wifi bt or gps or 3g on. just see how long the battery last than start install one by one the apps and see how the battery acts and you'll know what to do.

I think I know the culprit…M2D…battery was fine in the first hour or so after resetting the watch …then I installed M2D and battery started drainning fast…monitored the battery and showed Android system draining about 13%…before resetting the watch it was Ios notifications that drained that much battery…really confused
ye have installed all the update of 12.41mb?
I install?

with m2d bt or the m2d reciever only? i think after the update of 13.5mb it start for me too, the bt drains the battery faster. i want to reset the watch and install only m2d reciever and see if the bt is the problem if so i'll notify the developer of m2d on his thread.
I just got the Finow x3+ this Friday. The first thing i did was connect it to my wifi network and do the OTA (13.5). I get very bad battery life (5-6 hours and the watch gets very hot with 3g and wifi enabled) with almost no apps installed (gmail, Hangout, endomondo, Vysor). I will reset the watch and see if it gets better.

In my case the battery drain is because of the Ios push notification …it is constantly running and after I kill the process then the Kernel drains about 14% of the battery…bought the asus zenwatch 2 and I think I will start using that one since battery life is not an issue, or at least a hit and miss scenario.
