Banggood are not exactly a small company
Okay . You have proved your point and concerns in great detail . Everyone who should know now knows so lets leave it now . Thankyou
Interestingly, the Rogbid Brave Pro specs are identical to the LEM 14’s Bangood Specs
The AliExpress website states they have the Brave Pro in stock - although price is nearly double that of the LEM14.
Okay . Enough now . This is starting to become a witch hunt . As i said " WE " are well aware of this and understand your frustration . I have just PM’d you .
Thank you gonzoKK. My 2 year old LemX has been good but the screen is starting to fail. I did buy a replacement (Lem 12 Pro), but it has the issue of camera specifications, in my opinion they are misleading and deceptive (specified as 5MP and 8MP, but physically only 0.3MP and 5MP). With your research have you found any other watches that have good cameras and with honest camera hardware specifications?
Only the Kospet Prime 2 has OK camera, but it’s a very big and hefty watch, it’s up to you if you want to have a wheel strapped to your wrist.
I have the original Prime, I use the top facing camera for face unlocking, but the side camera is just there - still, you’re able to shoot a video or take a photo in case of emergency.
So go with the Prime 2, the others have mediocre cams at best.
I’ve preordered the LEM14 and am waiting for launch date (hopefully by January 10) to see what the final specs are before deciding whether to proceed or cancel the order. $149/$159 is a very attractive price.
*I have a Kospet Prime 2 on route but I’m also keen to have a waterproof option
As I said before…
@SmartWatch_Ticks has one and is making the review as we talk about it…
All will be revealed
Banggood advertising should be changed very soon, if not already done.
Lemfo has gone to some trouble to fix this problem. For various reasons, it is not easy them to change the information.
Bangood have promoted the LEM14 to a banner link on their landing page.
Specs have been tweaked…
- Battery is now 1100mAh instead of 1600mAh
- Screen is now IPS 1.6" (400x400) instead of 1.69" (450x450)
However…
- Waterproofing is still IP68 (5ATM)
- Cameras are still 13MP and 8MP
All eyes watching for @SmartWatch_Ticks channel waiting for the review
And will @SmartWatch_Ticks have any discount coupons?
omg mr tick so fast, can’t wait for review
did cancel mine. I am not playing wtih them and thanks Pablo again.
Hi gang. I’m working on pulling together what I can of the LEM14 details to get this review up ASAP. If you’re preordering because of the 13MP camera, hold off until you see the review. It’s not 13MP, at least on my review unit. Should be just a few more days now, after I finish the short series on the Fitbit Sense. Thanks for your patience.
For what I can actually measure, I’ll measure for you. If somebody can tell me how to nondestructively test the screen for Gorilla Glass 4 to verify it and distinguish it from other forms of glass, I’d appreciate it. Likewise, without opening the watch, is there a way to verify the watch battery is 1100mAh or 1600mAh or just 600mAh? Is there any software that I can run that does a load test to reverse engineer measured drain over time under a fixed load to predict the actual battery storage power in mAh as opposed to it’s physical size inside the watch? I’ll be able to confirm the 1.6" screen for you and show you the picture sizes from both cameras, but I’m stumped on the glass and battery evaluations. Thanks for the help.
@gonzoKK I won’t have coupons until the LEM14 starts shipping, so the best price is the preorder price right now. I think you can put one in your cart and check out to create an order but not put in the payment, like say you’ll pay by bank transfer rather than enter a credit card (if they’ll let you do that). That creates an order and later when it is available to ship, you’ll have a chance to complete payment or cancel the order all together. I think doing this process will lock in the preorder price at the current tier and not see it bumped up later. I don’t know this for sure, but it’s worth a try if you’re tethering on buying one. Either way, I’d appreciate it if you guys use this link to get into the LEM14 page as it’s my tracking link with them for the LEM14 review, even though it isn’t up yet. Thanks.
We really appreciate your hard work and surly liking your great reviews… i went running when i found out a newly uploaded video but unluckly it was not the one we are waiting…
I am afraid i cant help in what you asked… but we surly trust your tests and your feeling according to your experience.
Is it possible to have a first look short video on the watch to help all folks here to wait for the full review after few days?
Thanks again for everything
I can’t think of any reasonable way to find out if it is really gorilla glass. To find out I think you would need at least a decent microscope and a lot of knowledge about gorilla glass. You could test the quality of the glass, but probably not nondestructively
You would probably need a mohs hardness test kit for a clear result.
For a quick test you can use a steel knife and check if you can do scratches on the glass, this shouldn’t be possible with gorilla glass.
Yea @none , I’m not into scratching the screen of a perfectly good smartwatch unless I tested it underwater and it fried the watch first (which I’m also reluctant to do). I view these as destructive tests since they are harming the watch. So I guess we lave to take it on faith that Corning is really fabricating and selling 1.6 inch Gorilla Glass 4 watch glass (stretchable to 1.69 inches for some versions) to the factory making these watches. Yea, I feel real good about that. OK, I won’t discuss the glass as I can’t validate it. I thought I saw a full color marketing piece promoting the Gorilla Glass screen, but looking over the original materials and @pablo11’s new pages, it appears to be missing. Now it’s only listed in the always accurate and believable specs, from what I can tell.
BTW, I’ve been doing the burnin video test on the LEM14 running 30 min clips of 1920x1080 30 FPS FHD video (3.81 GB clips, 10.69 GB total) using the side camera with the clips looping one after the other. After 1.5 hours, 3 clips created, power dropped from 100% to 13%. I’m using the Free Camera app ( Free Camera-net.sourceforge.freecamera-4.7-47.apk ), which is what I use to shoot my YouTube videos with on a phone. Really like that app for its flexibility. In this test it was set to 30 FPS and screen forced to stay on and at full brightness. I want to try rerunning it with same FHD resolution but 15 FPS and screen dimmed to lowest setting but still on through the whole test (not sure yet if it will continue recording with the screen off). That way we can bracket the zone of expectation for heavy load use. Any way you cut it, 1.5 hours is extremely short battery life.
