I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to cause a problem.
Don’t worry:) you didn’t.
@Claudio_Alejandro did you manage to find what you needed?
It’s all good.
It does make sense to leave it here because it is for Android 9 LEM P which has a different chipset and Android version to most of the watches.
What works on the LEM P and Prime S is very likely not going to work on a Kospet Optimus 2 MTK Android 10 watch.
The reason I know this is because I work with the two types of Android source and they are very different in some ways.
The framework and security is almost the same, but not in the security aspect.
Just like many things that worked for A7 do not work for A9…
So I have no problem with moving it here for consistency
Yeah thank you for your help!!!
So I am/was interested in this watch as it is the only (relatively recent) FAW I have come across with support for LTE-FDD B4, as listed in the xlsx specs attachment at the top of this thread. But I now see the Kospet Prime S (so the 1/16 version of this watch) - at least according to the specs listed at the top of its support thread - does not include support for B4. As I understand the only difference between these two watches is the memory, I am wondering if the LEMP/DM30 actually supports B4? Does anyone here happen to know?
They are the same (DM30) watch.
Made by the same factory.
Just that some are sold by Lemfo and some are sold by Kospet.
I suspect that there is an unbranded version as well.
I am curious about why you would be interested in this model because it is actually quite old and I don’t think it is still in production.
Anyway, about the bands, the spreadsheet comes from the factory and is reliable information.
Advertising information on the other hand is totally unreliable.
I will have to dust mine off and check band support.
I’ll also ask the guys in China.
Personally though, I would prefer a device with the MTK chipset.
The LEM16 is an exception though, and is a very good unisoc chipset design.
There are other more recent models that have the MTK SOC.
Basically using the same board as the Optimus 2.
This is one example:
We don’t have this one, but it comes from the solution provider that we trust and the board is a very reliable design.
As I have said before though, if I was you, I would wait a few weeks and see what comes.
New models are generally released after the autumn festival holiday in China, and they have just returned to work now.
So it should not be long before any new products worth having are announced.
Thx for this @pablo11. No need to dust yours off, although I appreciated the offer. I am happy to take your advice regarding the MTK chip, LEM16 and to wait for a bit and see what come. . I was only interested in this model because it includes a band I need whereas the others do not. That said, I would be happy to simply connect to my phone via hotspot, but I recall at least one member saying this can drain your watch battery very quickly. Has this been your experience/observation?
I must admit that I don’t use tethering of any kind.
I can’t offer an opinion about this.
I would think that BT tethering would use less battery, but I haven’t done this for many years…
Sorry.
By the way, the vendor says that the band you are interested in is available on the international model (WWE) by default.
It’s likely available on others as well.
As I said before though, don’t bother reading the advertising specifications, always check the factory spreadsheet
Thx @pablo11. In a perfect world I would like to use a model with the FAW international firmware, but the cellular coverage (vs hotspot) is definitely an important consideration for me. Will dig a little deeper into these areas.
@pablo11 - where can I find the factory specs spreadsheet for a given phone? I can see the file in the top of the support thread for some phones, but not always. Is there a particular place I should be looking? Thx!
You can ask me if it is not attached to the main thread for the watch.
Obviously, I only bother getting these for watches that we can support.
So, just let me know if you can’t find what you need and I’ll do my best to help.
Super. Much thx!
Edit: @pablo11 - don’t want to extend this thread on this point (so happy to delete it ir move it), but the only two watches I am interested in but have been unable to locate the factory specs for are the Optimus 2 and DM101.
Regarding to your comment, basically I think it’s a matter of design on my case.
I’d never choose Optimus 2 working on an office, it doesn’t fit with the classic office’s dress code. And that rotating camera had many, many problems at the end.
Other models like lem16 maybe, but it have a less quality front camera and a worst main camera location to my prefers. And the mkt discussion it’s not an issue at the end of the day to me since I doesn’t want to end crashing my watch by playing with the firmware with nonsense and the overall performance seems to be the same on all this models on the real world.
Obviously, I’ll love there will be a new firmware version for this model, or even a new model with a similar elegant design than this, but looking the faws today’s situation, maybe I’m just dreaming with that.
Yep, no worries.
Apart from the fact the Z40 has the same if not better front camera (regardless of the advertising…lol)
It is a matter of choice at the end of the day.
However, it’s also about availability.
Most of these are no longer available and the examples that are available, are generally covered by false advertising and totally unsupportable.
My advice is do good research and beware of buying fake trash.
Good luck
Yeap. Just like that. Good research of every existing/new model to know pros and cons before buying.
hi, this watch has a Talkback/Accessibility service? Thanks.
Honestly, I had never tried (I hate TalkBack)
I’ve been eyeing full Android watches many years from now starting with the TicWris era. I bought a used LEMFO LEM P 4GB+64GB on eBay, a few days ago it arrived and it’s an almost new shape (only the HR sensor glass has some very slight scratches).
I’m with Google Fi and first it didn’t detect the data SIM card at all (no errors, just simply if I haven’t even inserted it). After factory reset it seems to work fine.
Questions:
- The battery drains a little faster than I thought. Now that the 4G works, should I disable wifi and / or bluetooth? How much battery should that save? I also have location on, so weather for example knows where I’m.
- Which is the most recent or advised firmware? Even before and after the factory reset I have the DM30_LEMP_PIX_V1.1_20210923 firmware.
- Is it possible to perform the flash form Linux, or I need to get a Windows laptop? (I suspect I need to, but I must ask).
- Anyone knows a watch face which has 6 complications like my Wear OS watch face? The current watch face I quickly picked shows date, weather, and battery, but I also want to see sun up / sun down, and two more time zones besides the current.
Hi disable the wifi. Thats a big killer on most watches. If you check our Lemfo thread you will see the latest firmware for this watch. As for clockskins there are thousands to browse on this forum with " array 100 touch feature ). Thanks
1.- Turn off WiFi if your’re not using it. Data Cellular also eats battery but if you want connectivity then there’s no use. Best signal = Best battery. If you’re in a low signal coverage area and you don’t plan on using it you might want to keep it in Airplane Mode
2.- You’ll get the most recent firmware from the OTA, no need to look for one manually unless you’re having troubles with your current one.
3.- SPD Flash Tool is only for Windows as far as I know, don’t get confused with SP Flash Tool which is for Mediatek and is available for Linux. LEMP uses a Unisoc chipset so is not compatible.
4.- This forum has thousands of clockskins available, or you might want to try Universal Launcher which supports .watch skins that you can search in other blogs/forums
