KW 88 screen turned up to down

I did opened the watch and reconnected battery but this changed nothing.
There is no possibility of trying to push the turn on button as the process of flashing cannot be even started, so there is no such time I could push this button

I don't know how to explain it to you. This latest fw does not work with this preloader you've uploaded and prevents from even loading it to sp f.tool software. If I cannot load this fw to software I can't even try to flash this fw. Without this preloader (with the one it was provided originally) the fw load to the software and then I can flash this fw.

You have to remove the checksum generator and the file related to it because the pre-loader has changed. The checksum files are preventing the Flash Tool from loading the files.

The time to press the button is if you connect to the watch and try to flash and nothing happens. That is when you press the power button on the watch. Don't hold it in just press a couple of times - only if it doesn't start to flash.

👍👍

Now, watch works brilliant although I cannot see any option for bluetooth calling?
I downloaded the phone app watch suggested (WiiWatch 2)
My phone sees the watch as KW88 Pro although it’s not Pro for sure

They removed the BT dialler from the later firmware and watches - I am not sure why but I believe it was because if you use the watch for Bluetooth phone calls, it caused issues with other BT functions.

I will find out for you. It’s still included on the Thor Pro but the KW88 was never advertised as having the BT dialler function. The Thor Pro was.

Not good as I only bought this watch for calling function. Removing this function is like downgrade.

Well, as I said - I need to talk to them about this. I am surprised to hear that you bought the watch for this function.. It's not sold as having this function?

Why suprised? I sometimes (really rare but still) need to make/answer a call in a car and my current car does not have loudspeaker function.
With the original firmware there was ‘Bluetooth calling’ function.

Sorry, I meant why the KW88? There are watches that do officially support it like the Thor Pro as an example. The kw88 was never "sold" as officially supporting it as far as I know. We made it work with a custom made firmware that did not come from KingWear. It was a cooperation between me and the firmware team that produce the firmware for KingWear - and many other brands.

Anyway, I am asking them to see if we can produce another custom version for this model with the new screen.

If they are too busy I will see if I can get the time to do it.

I’ll let you know how it goes.

Why KW88?

  • price (not that expensive)
  • more important - I like the design of it.

Oh, yes. I completely understand that part of it, but it doesn't say in the sales specifications that it can make calls over Bluetooth. That's the only reason why I was surprised by the choice.

I have had a KW88 for a couple of years and I really like it - so I understand why you like it.
Just didn’t get released as officially supporting Bluetooth calling function.

I don’t know but on the aliexpress auction I bought it, was said that bluetooth calling is possible and the original firmware it came with had bluetooth calling function.

I understand the KW88 is a great watch. Almost bought one but went with the I4Air instead. But I was again curious so I went to Ali-Express to view the KW88 again as I understood it did not have BT call. Their listing even highlights that a Sim Card is required to make a call or send a text.

Decided to check KingWear’s web site and it does not show a BT call function for the KW88.
I have also noted on Ali-Express that they have what I call vendors on their site that sell the same product. Some of the product information on the watches is not the same between vendors, often containing errors. So I carefully research a product, off site, before buying it on Ail-Express.

Thanks mate.
It’s nice to know I wasn’t imagining it :+1:
Much appreciated.

I checked the auction I bought it and you’re right, it says SIM card needed. Anyway I also remember reading some forums where it was said that after fw updAte Bluetooth calling is available.

Is There still possibility to go back to the fw that allowed Bluetooth calling?
