How to check if sp f.tool detects the watch?

Ok, Load up the original firmware you got from me in the flash tool - the NHH version. Connect the usb cable to your computer. Press the firmware upgrade option in SP Tools and select all partitions including the pre-loader and then click download.

Then connect the watch to the other end of the cable and press the power button a couple of times until it starts to flash.

If it still fails to flash you have to open the back of the watch and disconnect the battery cable inside the watch. Then connect it again after 20 seconds…

Then flash again.

It may still be upside down but it will get the watch back to life.

Actually I have checked the firmware I sent and I think the last one is the correct one to use. I will send you a a new preloader file for the 512mb and 4gb configuration of your watch. I believe the one in the file I sent you is for 512mb and 8gb storage. That's why it doesn't boot.

I will upload it soon for you.

Ok, replace the pre-loader file in the firmware pack I sent you last KW88_CS1_OHH_B_GSM_PHT_20180821 With the attached file.
Unzip and copy into FW folder and replace the existing one…preloader_KW_OHH.zip (75.54 KB)

Flash again. As I said - if flash tool does not recognise the watch try pressing power button while flashing or disconnect and re-connect the battery.

Cheers

When I did that and tried to load scatter file ā€˜ROM[preload] checksum mismatch checksum_config[0xe12b]. Checksum_val[0x6832]’ message appeared

Did that and after pressing power buttton it started to flash and flahing went all well but still it’s not turning on.

Have you added the pre-loader file I uploaded just a few posts before?

Yes I did, and as I said, the error appears when trying to load fw to sp f.tool.

Yep, it will. Because the pre-loader you flashed before was for the wrong ram and storage configuration. So, please load the last firmware I gave you again - but use the new preloader file I posted and flash again using the firmware upgrade option in SP Tools.

You don’t understand. That happens when I try to load this latest firmware with preloader changed to the one you updated. And it happens not even when when flashing but when trying to load scatter file to sp f.tool.
So I did everything you said - changed the preloader in the fw folder but I cannot load fw to sp f.tool because I’m getting that error.

When you say "that happens" please explain a bit more so I can understand... Thanks

I changed preloader file in fw folder (20180821). When I try to load scatter file to sp f.tool there Is this error:
ā€˜ROM[preload] checksum mismatch checksum_config[0xe12b]. Checksum_val[0x6832]’
I managed to flash the earlier fw version (20180628) but the watch is not turning on, even after battery reconnected.

So it doesn’t turn on even using the firmware upgrade option with the latest firmware version I gave you?

I’m saying I cannot even try to flash the latest version (20180821) with the preloader changed because I cannot load this firmware with this preloader changed cause I’m getting the error I mentioned before.

So, did you try pressing the power button on the watch while you are flashing the firmware? Or disconnect and reconnect the battery?

I have tested this on my KW88 and it works.

After this - I am sorry but there is nothing else we can do to help you.

Once again - it’s not about the flashing. I can’t load firmware to sp f.tool. watch disconnected. I click load to load scatter file but I get this error. Watch is disconnected all this time. Not flashing. Loading fw to software. Not loading fw to watch.

I did understand that. So, have you opened the back of the watch and disconnect and reconnect the battery connection? Or tried pressing the button on the watch while flashing?

Mind me if I’m wrong, but if a scatter-loading file is not loaded, there is nothing to flash?
And the scatter-loading file is not loaded because it cannot because of the error I mentioned.

I cannot perform flashing so there is nothing to do with pressing button or whatever with the watch?

In other words- when I load 20180628 fw to sp f.tool, it loads to software.
When I’m trying to load that 20180821 fw with that preloader it won’t load to software.
In both cases watch is disconnected from pc.

I don’t know how to explain it to you. This latest fw does not work with this preloader you’ve uploaded and prevents from even loading it to sp f.tool software. If I cannot load this fw to software I can’t even try to flash this fw.
Without this preloader (with the one it was provided originally) the fw load to the software and then I can flash this fw.
