Kospet Prime 2 Official support UPDATED!

You can remove that bar in SwiftKey settings if you want.

You can use the floating mode… If you find it!

Tip : tap the ā€œā€¦ā€ at the right of the top bar.

Regarding the stock keyboard there is an option in settings for the keyboard in the Advanced options for the keyboard to display the app icon in the Launcher. I have that turned on but don’t see any icon for the keyboard in the Launcher. If I’m understanding this correctly it seems the icon is missing.

Yes Swiftkey is one of the best alternate keyboards but a bit of a resource hog for a watch I believe. I use it on my bigger phone though.

With the Kospet Prime 2, I don’t think it will be a problem!

I never tried it on the original Prime though.
Strangely, I never had problems with the stock keyboard then.
But I must say the screen was too small for my fingers so I never really used it for texting, emailing or editing.

I would agree the Prime 2 has plenty of power but I’m just always looking at how much battery draw an app might use. Might not be an issue but I tend to assume the watch maker puts apps on the phone that are optimized to minimize power usage and resources.

Ok thanks !

I agree, even though I don’t think a keyboard has a great potential as a battery drainer.

@pablo11 hey mate, why all the connects to outside servers (baidu, etc) in CN when using any default app? Ex: simple weather update

E

use 3rd party app stores, like apkpure or similar. Don’t bother sideloading unless u really want to

Because they are built in China and the great firewall makes it difficult to test anything unless it is a Chinese service.

@pablo11 - would it be possible to include in the next rom update the ā€œclock.apkā€ in the same version that used on the Kronos Blade GENESIS? - this version works great as the Nova Launcher as widget.
Current included in the system ā€œclockā€ does not offer widgets.
I have tired to install the clock.apk copied from Genesis watch- but it can not be installed as there is already clock application in the system. I have tried to use app cloner on Genesis but it can not clone system app…

In addition clock.apk from Genesis has timer - current k2 does not seem to have timer unless I did not find it yet…

Try OmniClock, it’s free and open source.

Nova Launcher is unable to place the time widget of OmniClock on the desktop unfortunately

That’s weird, I’m using Nova Launcher Prime on all of my devices - including my Kospet Prime 1 -, and OmniClock works fine, even the widget…

Me too, Initially I thought that this is related to new Nova Launcher version, so I have tested older version, but still no way to use Omni Clock widget, however I have installed ā€œclock.apkā€ from the play store and this one works with Nova Launcher as widget (except that fonts are rather small)

Are you using the paid version of nova…?
That may be the issue if you are using the free version

Nova Launcher needs your permission to be able to create widgets - if you can add other widgets to your screen, it’s OmniClock’s failure somehow, but that would be weird since I’m using Nova Launcher Prime (yeah, the paid version, that’s the Prime ;)) and the OmniClock widget works perfectly under Android 10.

Yes, I only mentioned paid version in case the free version was being used…
And yes, there is a special permission that needs to be granted… Might even be device admin… Can’t remember for sure.
But it does sound like a permissions issue

Yes I am using paid (fully official) version of Nova Launcher (which I use for years on the phone also) You may remember my setup of Prime1 and Kronos Genesis - on YT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdvKLo_uAhs&t=1596s - please check this video.

I can create other widgets on the desktop. In fact I have installed from playstore the clock.apk and this finally allowed to create widget - however digits are quite small due to the high resolution of PRIME2 - so I am looking for the clock widget which can be scaled into larger digits. Also - in case You are in contact with Pablo form Argentina - author of Watch Droid - I am looking for other users which are interested in at least partial restoration of the version 9 call functionality - (just to be able to ACTIVATE the calling from the watch, while actual call is made from the phone working with bluetooth head set (so the 3 devices working together using BT) see my YT video for what I want (new version of Watch Droid due to google restrictions does not support calling - this is big problem for me as this is in my opinion most needed functionality of the watch - to show me who is calling and to allow me to initiate calls to the group of min 6-9 persons of most frequently called numbers without taking phone out form the pocket / or backpack) This is also SAFETY feature - as you do not need to take phone out so nobody see you using it, so no easy steal or easy drop for the phone

Please note that I am not asking for full BT calling functionality - I want just to be able to initiate call from the watch - and calling is made from the big phone, no voice transfer to the watch or from the watch
