Kospet Prime 2 Official support UPDATED!

Just FYI,
We have fixed the 8mp limit and now it is true 13mp.
But I have to clear the fix with the solution provider before it is released.
I will keep you posted.

Mr. Ticks, it would be interesting if you could check if it is possible to record video and audio with the screen off to save battery power. In theory it should be possible, but in my Prime 1 I have not been able to do so because although the image looks good, the sound of the video is distorted while the screen is off. The same goes for other video and audio recording apps. When you turn the screen back on, the sound is recorded correctly again. Is the same with Prime 2? Thank you.

I completed a full day use with my 5 days old Prime 2 with almost everything fine tuned for me.

Here are a few points :

  1. Once the watch is on the wrist the touch screen works almost perfectly!
BUT I tried to use all of the stylus I had, only worked, and only from time to time…
I remove the protective film but nothing changed (Except the screen is much easier to keep clean!)

You should perhaps seek a stylus that works or tune the touchscreen to accept a stylus.

  2. I hate the included keyboard… It’s huge with much space unused and worse when I type a SMS, or worse a password it hides what you typed!
I tried to use my usual keyboard, SwiftKey, and IT WORKS, almost perfectly!

Off course the screenshot doesn’t show the round cropping but you can guess it.
SwiftKey can be resized, moved and adjust to your needs.

  3. I use ATV Launcher as an app tray replacement and it works so well for me that I reaffected the back button to quick access it.
I still have the double tap on the back button give me a back action that is needed in some apps.

  1. I found a zoom action on a triple tap on the screen (Developer settings…) that works fine even to enlarge a button that won’t accept a touch being too small or too close to an edge.

  2. I inserted a SIM card for the first time with no problem except the watch won’t see the SIM card without a reboot…
I used Google apps for Contacts, Phone and messages, they work perfectly.
I also tried Spike, Gmail and ProtonMail and they are all perfectly usable with SwiftKey keyboard, I only wish I had the option to use a stylus!

Finally a good experience, the Prime 2 is really usable with the big screen making many things possible that the Prime 1 couldn’t do except for eagle eyes and fairy fingers!

Of course the Prime 2 overall size is not for everyone but if it fits you it’s a big (pun intended…) choice!

Is that the Microsoft SwiftKey Keyboard in play store.

I tried that, but it lies upon the text input field, so I am blind folded while writing. It doesn’t push the input field to the top of the screen like the default keyboard does. Is that an option ?

I have exactly the opposite experience!

The original keyboard used 80% of the screen and pushed nothing on top, especially password fields!

The SwiftKey keyboard can be resized and moved and it pushes the editfield on top of it!

Really strange, perhaps it depends on the app we are using “behind” the keyboard…

I would really like to see the original keyboard be resizable and movable on top of other apps!
And with a transparency we could modify…

Yes . You are correct . Your post is not for this forum . Thankyou

A small issue for Kospet to fix. Really minor but it will make them look more professional. In the Alarm clock if you edit the time it says “Chang Time” instead of “Change Time” and it’s not for lack of space as the same screen has the option below it for “Clock Sound” which is 11 characters with a space versus 10 characters with space for Chang Time.

What I found @Alvaro28 is for both the stock camera and Open camera, when pressing the side button to leave the app while it is recording video, the recording stops even before pressing a 2nd time to turn off the screen. For both of them while recording the screen never goes off, so I can’t check the audio for you. Perhaps there’s another app that will record with the screen off?

I wonder if somebody knows why Google Calendar doesn’t work on the Prime 2…

I tried several substitutes but none worked!

Because it is not included in the firmware.
Even if you install the Google calendar sync adapter, it will not work.

But, as I have said a few times, improvements are on the way. Android 10 is very different and is the first 64bit OS they have worked with.

Let’s see what happens.

is it 26mm?

Yes strap width is 26mm

Yess…it is…

Lol 10 char minimum

I found one on Amazon that is made of titanium and is 26mm but says for Garmin smartwatch only. Can I assume that nonetheless it will fit the Prime2? There is also one with black metal and rosewood inserts in the band that looks very nice.

Be careful, I think the Garmin Quick Fit mechanism is proprietary

Can you please provide the band description for ordering?

You’re looking for 26mm watch straps with standard quick release steel pins.

@gonzoKK @jesax
Metal watch straps greatly degrade the sensitivity of watch antennas (BT, WIFI, GSM). That’s why you won’t find metal straps at full android watch manufacturers. For many watch types, people experience 25-30% shorter battery life and watch warm-up. These are very beautiful but not for this watch. (I also experienced these unfortunately because I wasn’t informed enough) Of course you may be lucky, but it’s not worth spending a lot of money on.

Yes @gyuri
I have been trying to tell people about this ever since straps have been swappable.
Not only does it interfere with the signals, it also causes battery drain because the watch tries to get better signal.

If you don’t want to use Wi-Fi or cell data or phone calls - it is your choice.

But as a rule you don’t use metal straps
