If I click on the telstra internet APN…
I can edit it no problem
I did a factory data reset and erase all. Same crap - can’t edit APN or anything about it.
Can you confirm if you are on the v1.4 rom - the one you uploaded for updating?
Tried to flash the v1.1 that I had on it and had built a flashable rom from using MTK tools etc. but it wouldn’t let me flash it due to verified boot so I reflashed v1.4 and editing APN is still greyed out - can’t do it. Most phones I’ve had have been using the ATT sim by tracfone and I can usually edit the APN’s but I know some phones I’ve seen people talk about say they can’t edit the APN. I tried some Apps that normally can edit the APN but no luck on this watch. I suspect the SIM your are using is probably why you can edit it. So giving up for the night…
Thanks again.
FYI, I’ve put in my 4G T-Mobile SIM and works fine. Data speeds a bit low at 7D/6U where I’m situated a far way from the tower (WiFi screams at 115D/14U). Chrome plays YouTube just fine, calls work, all good here. Speaker’s nice and loud, too.
Yes, it’s not an issue that is experienced by anyone else.
I suspect ATT has some tighter restrictions on acceptable IMEI numbers.
But who knows?
I have tried three different carriers here and I can edit the APN for all of them.
So I suspect that either @droidtrix is not using the firmware upgrade option in the flash tool or there is another issue.
As they were engineering samples anyway and should be replaced - I am unsure why this is even being discussed.
These two watches are not meant for customers. End of the story.
Can those of you that have this watch post some pics of the watch on your wrist?
It’s 2.1 inches Mark.
It’s big. I always made it clear from the outset that this was a large watch for the enthusiast.
Personally I love it but it’s not like everyone thinks the same
Have you looked at the reviews on YouTube?
Does anyone know where to find the leather/silicone type band sold for the old Prime, in 26mm to use on the new Prime 2 ?
Sure, I get that. I’ve watched the reviews.
Do you object to people posting pics? Am I asking for something objectionable?
You might try an app like settings search or QuickShortcutMaker to see if the APN settings might be hidden.
I don’t use Settings Search but a link is definitely available here on the forums.
Hope this helps…
Hello everyone.
For the two days that I have been using the Kospet Prime 2 in France there has been no problem with 4G the sim card is working very well and no overheating.
The battery really lasts for the day playing video games, watching videos, downloading in 4G etc.
In normal use I think it lasts 2 days or more.
There is really a big progress on this smartwatch which now can really replace my smartphone.
On my Kospet Prime 2 I didn’t have any protective plastic on the camera or on the frequency sensor so be careful not to break everything.
Me to be sure that there is no plastic protection I take double-sided tape and I apply it on the surface so if there is a plastic it comes without breaking anything.
With this technique I removed the second protection from the screen.
Hey mate. Just wanted to say I use telstra.internet as my apn, it works better than .wap, its a faster gateway from my experience…
Hi @Mark_Williams
No not at all…what gave you that idea?
I was just pointing out that there are photos and videos out there and I was at work when you posted.
Don’t post hysterical information.
I already posted several times that there are delays…
Editing your post.
I seem to have around the same performance. But I live way out in the mountains…
A little update on the issue with the APN situation. I found a T-Mobile SIM card (through Tracfone) I had laying around and put it in the watch. I not only had quite a few APN’s to choose from but I could easily EDIT each one for all the parameters. So this has nothing to do with it being an Engineering sample it is a restriction in the SIM talking to the watch as I had suspected. This SIM was not active though so I am not able at the moment to test mobile data. However I still maintain that since I had to modify the APN settings for the Prime 1 to get mobile data it only seems logical I would have to modify them for this watch also. Prime 1 also had multiple APN’s show up on the AT&T SIM from Tracfone and all were editable. But that same SIM can’t be edited or any APN added in the Prime 2. This tends to lead to the conclusion that the Engineering sample does not have all the bands advertised in the Banggood ad (see below) I have not yet talked to Tracfone about the APN’s since their tech support is sometimes good and sometimes a real pain.
Beside all of that I would like to get information on what options there are since these were engineering samples. I don’t see much problem so far other than the APN issue and the battery lasts way less than the Prime 1 and less than almost anything else I’ve had in the past. I’ve got a Unihertz Atom with the MT6763 Octacore chipset and 4Gb / 64Gb that’s not a lot bigger than the Prime 2 and it will way outlast this in battery life although it’s battery is just a little bigger (2000mah) vs 1600mah.
Last night I even chose ‘Power Save’ option just below ‘Reboot’ when you hold down the power button. That puts it into black and white screen only with no options to use anything and it only shows the time. Despite that it still lost 10% in 8 hours of total non use. Everything else was off and clean task done etc.
Yeah I’ve seen the videos. I trust and respect this group and would love to see / hear their experiences with this beast.
