FINOW X5 Firmware 160524

Jessie from FINOW has just sent out a firmware update for the FINOW X5 watch to address a user’s problem reported here on this G+ community. Here is the video for flashing this firmware: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LwAim6zER4

And here is the new firmware dated 2016-05-24:

As to change log, it is stated that “this update is about the bug that could not open again when charge”. If any of you, after testing it, can say this in a clearer way, that would be appreciated. I wanted to report it exactly as stated from the company as I apparently don’t have this bug on my X5. Your testing feedback in the comments below will be monitored by FINOW, so please share good, bad, or otherwise results, but please stay on topic as to the affect this firmware update has on your device.

Not recommended to flash this to anything other than an X5 because of the physical differences with the other FINOW watches. Thanks.

Beautiful news. Now we are waiting for a new release for x1 and d5…

Let’s see how this one performs. If the bug is in the other watches, I’m sure they will update them as well. They seem to be really on it.

thanks for the update, but how do you get rid of the spinning globe and revert back to the previous animation

I think this is a quick build for testing and not integrated with their startup logo yet until we all know it works OK. One thing to look for is if it takes longer or shorter to charge to full, and if the charging time is different depending on high or low power charging current applied.

The only build that I have the spinner on is the original build, all the others show a globe, maybe I did something wrong, but I followed your instructions on youtube

@Splen_Dence The way for restoring the first animation is to flash only the LOGO.BIN file and copy in proper location the bootanimation.zip from first ROM. This should not have side effect, sure at 99.99%

Deeper discussion on ALL bugs still lingering in this X5 firmware update are posted, appropriately, in “Official Firmware But Reports” here: https://plus.google.com/+LokifishMarz/posts/bVRZNvSBHh7

This might be a stupid question, but in the instructions it says download the drivers and install on your PC, and the files from the vendor should be in three folders. all i can see on this post is the link to the google drive which has the w815_kk.logoswitch.common.72kk. folder which i have downloaded (see picture) - can anyone do a youtube vid of the flash process being done so we can follow that?

missing/deleted image from Google+

I retract my comment. saw under the youtube video all the links were there, and the video demonstration was at then end. my bad! - new firmware on the watch and battery lasting longer already. cheers!

Hi. Your link for USB drivers is not working anymore. Where else can I get them.
I just bought Finow Q3 and I have a problem with WiFi connection. It sometimes works, sometimes not so I thought I will try to update the firmware of the watch. If that doesn’t help I’ll try to send it back.
Thanks

can anyone help…my x5 wont connect to my pc…usb device not recognised

Hi All
I just got my Finow X5 Plus Smart Watch, and tried to connect it to my pc to upload to it some Clock Faces, At the first time connection to the pc, Windows 10 recognized the watch and i could connect to the its memory folder and upload files, but after a few min, windows just disconnected from it and noted that it cannot install drivers for the watch. The same happened in my work pc. Tried to install other MTP drivers and Android ADB . . . nothing helped.
Anyone have a solution for that ?

@Eli_Mizrahi Goto device manager and click on that usb. Press update driver manual and type C:\Windows\INF … and then click Let me pick … and select the option MTP… last option ok…

@Hamza_Tariq That worked, thanks

Worked for me also. Thanks

Can you please tell me where to download the latest X5 firmware? The above ink is quite old and it doesn’t have the USB files for flashing.
thanks
