Day & Night version of the V22 Osprey watchface app.

Com’on guys, we are on the right heading. Let’s start building.
Great minds think alike!

@Lokifish_Marz I’m having problems with these rules.
First, it feels to me they are written in anger.
Very strict rules, that are so tight, it will force community members away from this community. Not that they want to use “stolen” designs, but just that working with these rules becomes an administrative nightmare.

Second, what are you implying with “ANY framework that allows for the possibility of copyright and trademark violations is banned. This includes stock frameworks. This is stop the opening of the floodgates for copyright and trademark violations.”
Are you saying that I’m not allowed to use my framework to generate APK’s with WF’s? No regards of the origin of the designs?

And if problem 1 is true, there needs to be another way, that benefits the community and not squeezes the life out of it.
What if we all take a step back, have a good night sleep and shake hands tomorrow?
We are all talking about the same problems we want to tackle.
There will be other frameworks after this one, we need to educate the community to handle intellectual work with the respect it deserves. No rules can force that.

@Lokifish_Marz It’s like you’re asking me for a solution for piracy. There is none. Better focus on constructing and kicking someone when kicking is needed. Reading your comments your spending way too much time controlling the borders.
We need to pamper this community so it’s preferred by designers in general. If we all know how to behave here it’s good enough and watching each other helps to stabilize the correct use here. If time comes to be more harsh to insubordinate members, we have a powwow and shame him/her were necessary. That’s all the advice I can give.

And concerning my framework, I’m already receiving donations of WF artworks to be converted to APK’s. So I’m putting my framework to good use. If that means I will get banned from this community I would be very disappointed.

@Ken_Van_Vliet Hear-Hear!!

@Lokifish_Marz I just wanted my smartwatches to have the custom WF I choose. So I wrote a framework. And now I have it. I will put any WF on my watch that I like. Nobody can check and stop me if I do so.
What I’m not going to do is publish these without the consent of the author. That’s my promise. I’m happy with what I’ve achieved.
And the development continues on the framework.
Do I have permission to stay in this community if you read the above?

@Ken_Van_Vliet About the coding in your WF: I’d have to recode everything, because it’s a different framework. Zoom is possible, but we don’t have rotating bezels. So WF that use that option would not be implemented if I’d keep your WF 100% authentic.
What does the Lua script do?

@Ken_Van_Vliet Well I’m not using Lua, but where it’s concerning rotational values, that is calculated and will always be exact. It’s more the external sensor values that might be present on AW and not on ASA watches. That would mean disabling the function or replacing it with some other data, and thereby altering the design. That would only be possible with concent

@Lokifish_Marz Great that you opened up the acceptance of other frameworks. ThanXaloT for that.

Could you describe how “full legal official proof of copyright and trademark ownership” would have to look like in practice?

“Members have one week from the posting of these changes to either remove the posts or comply with the new rules. If members do not, their posts removed.” Does that mean that all members have to check past posts, and if they do not comply, it will be removed in the next cleansing session?

To be honest this whole experience has not done us any favors - albeit unintentional.
As the owner of the forum and after such a vicious attack on you - Loki does not have much choice but to invoke these new policies.
The way in which you were smashed has opened up a whole can of worms - we never expected other community members to steam in like this over something like this. Financial gain was never an issue and none of the moderators were contacted in the first instance.
What this means is that potentially any of you could be open to the same treatment and so Loki has little choice - even though this particular instance looks like it is resolved.
It is a sad day indeed.
Happy to be corrected but …

@Pablo_Eleven_Pablo11 In all honesty I used a protected design for testing and released an APK to show the framework. I should have been more careful even with having good intentions doing so. They were right to complain. They were wrong to flame the owners of this community openly and not take the correct route in contacting them directly with their griefs. That caused an unwanted flamewar.
I removed the APK and appologised, explained my new framework and expressed hope to work with them while honoring their copyrights.
I believe things have cooled down a lot and new friendships have been made.
Honoring Copyright remains a prime directive and as @Lokifish_Marz proudly states, here in this community, more then elsewhere on the net. This and his new rules should make this work better than ever. And this community could be an example on how to do things right.

@Kenneth_Tan_Fotograf nicely said :slight_smile:

If this keeps going, we’ll break G+ again with a too long thread.

@Lokifish_Marz how would you see that happening in real life?

@Lokifish_Marz I just don’t see that happening either. I’m not saying my faces are the best but they don’t lack in quality and with over 200, start there! I have no problems with you guys converting them:)

@Lokifish_Marz I just don’t want you going down over this man but I have to be honest here. No one will do this, no one. Costs are too high to obtain a proper copyright. Please start with mine then we can go from there. With over 200, I’m not sure what the issue still is;) Just want to help mate!

@Lokifish_Marz Do original creators do this registration procedure? In real life this would mean that if I’d want to publish a WF in my framework in this community I would have an impossible task to get those registrations from 99.999% of the designers.
Did you think about that while setting up these rules?

@Kenneth_Tan_Fotograf I have made many original designs and have never filed for any official copyright. I know others do the same with the exception of the PlayStore…not sure about them and how they submit work.

@Jeff_C What would a workable solution be to absolve me from legal responsibilities, if I’m offered an original design to create an WF app from that later was proved not to be created by him.
Is an email from him good enough?

@Jeff_C It’s not that I’m unable to publish. I would be unable to publish here in this community. My home from home…

Good points here but my word is my bond, not sure about the rest of the world;)
