Animated Talking Clockskin ( well sort off 😁 )

Talking Clockskin

Inspired by a app recommended by my good friend @G1NT0N1C i thought this might be interesting to some mods and members who are losing there sight  . Myself , @pablo11 , @Eric_Crochemore and @Doonsbury etc

Basically it is a clockskin that reads out the time via a app shortcut . Here go with the instructions.

Firstly install this app on the watch

Change the following settings once installed on watch

Text to white and background to black

Install this clock skin on your watch

Or V2

Reboot and all should be working fine .

A few things to mention -

Tested on A11 ( optimized and un-optimized ) and there doesnt seem to be any difference . Obviously the more optimized the less use of battery . This will be trial and error across A7.1.1 , A10 and A11

@G1NT0N1C has tested on Optimus with no issues

After reboot speech can be slow to come through then appears to be okay

If anyone wants the .xml file for WFD so they can alter the design i am more than happy to post it .

This works across all system languages

For A11 users there is a additional option . Change the following settings on watch -

Settings - battery - auto launch management - ( turn off app in App auto launch and App secondry launch ) . Then go into watch app and do this

This will return you to the clockskin after the time has been announced so you can carry on as normal

If you set the screen timeout to 15 seconds, there is no need to use any button.

Sorry what i meant is if the " close app after speaking time " function worked it would return to the clockskin which it wont without pressing the back button . It wont be a problem for some

Hey @Dr_Andy_Vishnu !! How did I get on the “Short sighted Old Gits” list!!! I’ll have you know, Son, that the ole Doons has 20-20 vision!! As a matter of fact, I am typing this without glasses!! Ofcourse, when you have your nose pressed against the screen…well it is kinda hard to see the keyboard…But NO glasses!
Ok Andy, even thought I don’t need to use it I will try it out on the Prime…just as a favor to you…understand?
Oh what the hell! Ok, it looks and sounds so cooooool…nice one Andy! :+1: Cheers, “Whats that big smudge in the middle of your Monitor”?!  Doons

Oh and I’ll just mention in passing that @pablo11 has a much better qualification than just an “Old Duffer”

Hey mate…I just loaded this on to the Prime and it works great. I was surprised because as I went into the settings, they were already all set to the way you suggested? Anyway it seems to work fine mate…not that I am one of those unfortunate near sighted newts who need to use it of course!
Anyway all this “Everyone on FAW Forum is near sighted on account of all those faces they make & look at all day” is pure Propaganda!
What is “Propaganda” I hear the uneducated among you ask? Easy…

Cheers, “Just let me put my specs on so I can turn the talking watch on”! Doons

Hey @Doonsbury
Which firmware are you using on your Prime 2…?
Because I think the FAW international firmware has these user friendly settings set… But I have not had time to test :handshake:

Dearest Pablo…How the hell would I know where to look for what firmware I am using?! Er…I mean…I don’t know where to find that information my friend! Ok so let me throw some info at you and see if it is what you want…from “Phone” in settings

Custom build version
alps-mp-q0.mp1-V9.196.1

Build number…
FAW- PRIME2-V1.3-RC1

Is that any good mate? If not, let me know where to look!
Cheers, "Does he think I know something about these devices? Gezzzzzzzzz, Doons

Yep, that’s why I mentioned it above because as you said - "the settings were already set up as you suggested "

Nothing special, but I copied the digits and created a matching watchface for this app. So it’s now a very simple digital watchface that tells the time when you touch it. @Dr_Andy_Vishnu thinks it’s worth publishing. So here we go:
