Android smartwatches and Google Assistant / Gemini

Hello,
I am a new subscriber and pleased to find this forum.

I want to find a smartwatch which has these characteristics :

  • A wireless connection to my smartphone for calls, mails, textos…
  • A functional Google Gemini / Assistant
  • A Text-to speech function

I don’t do sports, so i don’t have requirements about functions related to that topic

I am interested by the “LOKMAT APPLLP 5 MAX” but after reading the post about this model, it seems this watch has a lot of bugs.

Do you know any model of smartwatch which can fit my need ?
Thank you in advance for you advices.

Sorry but here we talk about Watches without the use of smartphones, smartwatches where you can put your sim card inside…

Google assistant works on my watches listed:
H18 and GT200 (A8)
DM30 and TK01 (A9)
LEM 12 Pro, LEM 15, LEM14, & Optimus 2 (A10)
LEM 16 (A11)
I Haven’t tried Gemini on them. But Gemini requires A10 or higher.

All of these watches have an app that uses blue tooth to send notifications from the phone to the watch (varies by watch). There is also an app called Watch Droid that works well for that purpose too.

Thank you Chris / Jeffrey for your anwsers.

Ok, i understand these smartwartches required a sim card. Does is mean that your have one phone number for your smartphone and a different phone number for your watch ? Indeed, i m not sure i can have 2 sim cards with the same phone number here in France.

I wanted to find information about the LEM 16, but the LEMFO website is empty and their Aliexpress shop no longer exists

Jeffrey, greetings. What do you think is less bad: the GT200 or the H18? :upside_down_face:I suspect I’ll end up buying the GT200 or the H99, and if it weren’t for your post I’d fall for it! Do you know what Goldenspike is? Do these watches come with that name in the ad? I couldn’t find a website about this company.

I don’t have the money to invest in a good watch right now, but I’m determined to buy one of these Xinglings (in Brazil we use this expression to refer to cheap products from China). I want a big screen because my eyesight is bad and I don’t like glasses, and I like the launcher screen. I need a watch with WhatsApp working well and making calls when I’m not in front of the computer because I sometimes get emergency messages. I suspect the screen isn’t really AMOLED, right?

Unless you move your phones sim to your watch and then back again, you’ll have 2 numbers. What I do is to use a forwarding app on my cell phone to transfer my calls from phone to watch when I leave my phone behind.
I also have a google voice number. It can be linked to multiple numbers. When someone calls that number it rings my phone, laptop, tablet, and watch.

Between the two I prefer the H18. BUT only because T-Mobile is playing games with speed. The GT-200 has the same bands as the H18 but T-Mobile only lets my GT-200 connect as 2G. I think it has to do with the IEMI numbers. I can’t find anything definitive though.
I’ve seen goldenspike in posts on ali express and a few other site. I don’t know anything about the company. I assume they are resellers. I’ve seen them advertise with H18/H19/GT-200/H99

Both my A8 watches have intermittent issues with notifications. Don’t know why.

I live in France too and yes you can have 2 sim cards in France but they dont have the same number and one make only data… The goal of the smartwatches discuss here is to replace the smartphone, perso no more smartphone since 10 years, only smartwatche like Lem 16, etc…

Can you say to Google Assistant to call a contact on the H18 ?

I haven’t tried that.

So try and you will see that’s dont work…

So if you knew it didn’t work, why did you ask me if it did? Cute little “gotcha” game.
I’m done here. have a nice day.

Hi sorry, but when you say Google Assistant work on H18 : he work partially…

again.

@Jeffrey_Swarens …and every day the list of people you shouldn’t reply to gets longer…
I know it well.
Don’t get upset. I—and most of the members here—appreciate your well-founded and thoughtful answers.
Thank you for that. :handshake:

Thank you everybody for your feedback. So, it’s seems that using a smartwatch only for Google Assistant / Gemini is not reliable, at least for now. Perhaps in the future with a new update of Android these AI functions would be better.

using a smartwatch only for Google Assistant is very reliable : but please forget your smartphone or buy a Iphone and a Apple watch. I have just only an Android Watch since 10 years ( no smartphone ) and i can do everything with Google assistant : place a call, send sms to my contacts,or i can ask what it’s the age of Johnny hallyday, Google assistant always do the job…

Copilot WORKS OK on DM30 (also known as Lemfo LEMP).

Just in case.
