Why some smartwatch manufactures call ROM what is Flash Storage (SSD)?

Why some (Chinese?) smartwatch manufactures call ROM what is Flash Storage (SSD)? I mean, RAM stands for Random-Access Memory whereas ROM stands for Read-Only Memory. But the latter is not Flash Storage like Solid-State Disk (SSD). The storage of devices where people save things is the Flash Storage; NOT the ROM, which is completely different and very small (tiny) in size when compared to the Disk Storage or Flash Storage or SSD.
