I’ve been following the forums, and looking to update my prime 2 now that the screen is peeling off the chassis. I saw that there might be new models coming out, im hoping with NFC and better water proofing because I don’t want to be scared that if i’m caught in the rain, the watch will die

Unfortunately we don’t know of anything yet.
The reality is that brands don’t want to release Android watches.
It is not profitable for them.

Apart from the enthusiasts like us here, no one wants to pay the price for a good quality Android watch.

But we will see what happens… :+1:

The customer has preferred the hybrid option instead of the truly smart watch.
A shame….

ā€œto pay the priceā€???

Man, people outhere pay astronomical prices for watches like Tic Watch or Galaxy Watch, which are garbage. Haha.

This full Android watches costs less than a half those ones.

We had this conversation yesterday. The big issue is most people dont know these android watches exist which is a shame

I think that another issue is that the Wear OS and Apple Watch interfaces are more plug-and-play (or ā€œidiot-proofā€) so they appeal to the masses, while FAW watches require a tech support forum for many people (including me, and thank you for this forum!) It reminds me of the disappearance of the Windows Mobile OS for smartphones, which couldn’t compete with the ā€œidiot-proofā€ Android and iPhone smartphone operating systems. (I loved those Windows phones with the stylus!)

Yep.
Idiot proof devices are always appealing.
But @Dr_Andy_Vishnu is correct.
Not enough people know that these Android watches exist.
Moreover, they probably remember the very early days of full Android Watches when they were extremely frowned upon.
This really needs to change if there is going to be a future for Android watches.
Then there is the issue of Android watches using old Android versions and security is always frowned upon as a result of this.

Having said all that, please keep an eye out for a major announcement here on the forum.
It’s concerning something that will be coming to market soon.
I have permission to share this announcement and information now.
Just need to create the content for it.

Unfortunately, time is very limited for me and our team.

So, please be patient and we hope to get this done soon :handshake:

Not agree. WearOS and several of their apps (specially those for running and tracking) are really difficult to set up correctly.

I’m not a big user of WearOS but this is what I’ve seen on the few couple of months since I have the TicWatch.

In exchange, FAWs are just a smaller Android smartphone for me.

Easily, last two years I hear you say that buddy.
Don’t get me wrong, haha
I just don’t know what to expect.

And you think that laughing at him is the right reaction?

Thanks G,
But no worries cos I don’t give a shit what people say.
Anyway, the bottom line is that there is great Android 13 Android watch, with great size amoled screen - almost 1.6".
Battery life is way better.
It runs on an ASR chipset and it runs well.

The problem we have is that none of the brands have stepped up to sell it.
Therefore, if no one hears about it and no bulk orders are made, it is not going to reach the market :frowning:

The intention is to make a simple review and post it here.
In the hope that if enough people express an interest in it, a brand may be interested.

@stingray22 I understand your frustration, because we said this before when we thought we were going to see a good new product.
Unfortunately, the DT Ultra 2 was so bad - we dropped it.
Could not recommended it.

This is a different story.
Fantastic product and no one to sell it.
We could set something up, but the Android watch market is too quiet in my opinion.
I don’t want to commit to something that needs our time, because we don’t have enough to invest in this kind of thing.

Let’s see what people think about it and then revisit the situation.

Basic specs attached for now.
Subject to change.

Pablo, thanks for the advance, really.

I read the entire specs doc. To be honest, I hope your last advice ā€˜subject to change’ was real too, because I consider 2 gb of ram is not a big deal for these specs, and even compared some older FAWs -not mentioned here-.
Same could apply with camera/s.

On the other hand, I perfectly understand that this actual situation is due to the fact we are a (how you say ā€œmercado de nichoā€ on English?) bottom market?, and big deals for a handful of people is not possible.

Well, this is a test sample that I have been working on.
Getting apps to work properly.

The issue is, with no customer commitment, they will be wasting their time and money making a better spec one.
They will do this if it goes to production though.
At least 3gb + 32gb would be the go.

Anyway, unless they get a bulk customer (like lemfo or DMN) they will not proceed with it.
Equally, the brands are worried that they will invest in an order for 2000 or more, and then it does not sell fast enough to be viable for them.

It’s incredibly frustrating.
I will talk to Lemfo about it if the provider agrees to it.
That’s the best we can do.
Unless we attach a buying link here… But there are not enough people visiting here anymore to make that work either.

Such a shame because the oled screen and scroll wheel button, along with awesome battery management from A13 (48 hours easily, with cellular and raise to wake enabled) are a great user experience. With or without GMS.

Sorry to readthere are not enough people visiting the site.
The product you mention sure is promising but 2 Gb Ram, really ? How could android 13 run with that small amount ?
Anyway I would consider the product if available.

Did you see this?

Also testing a 4+64gb version.
But as I said, it’s not easy to get these things made when there is no customer willing to invest.
Let’s see what happens.
Cheers

Just to confirm,
I’m working on the 2gb + 16gb version and it’s running Android 13 with no problems.
The higher ram is only useful for running multiple apps or Google assistant.

Could you tell us if cameras would be included, and on that case, if they would be greater than 2 mpx?
