) This year is so much better than last year because you didn’t have me hanging around last year! C’mon Ol…er…Son, admit it…if I wasn’t in it, this year would have been a dead set stinker!

I will just take a moment to express myself about this subject.
Everyone wants more apps to do more stuff and particularly for our watches.
But, most people don’t want to pay a penny towards it.
So this leads to the devs having to chuck in loads of ads or simply forget about it altogether.
This is a very sad situation and I have ultimate respect for the devs who do make the effort and I don’t mind paying for it.
I sympathise with them because similarly, we can’t provide this website without any donations.
We have a few monthly donators (who I really must say “thank you very much” to) but sadly they are very few 
The sad truth is that we, like the developers, will have to turn on advertising very soon or we will simply disappear.
Running costs for this site are what they are and we barely get anything like 10% towards it from donations.
So we have no choice but to turn on annoying ads because only around 3% of our thousands of visitors are willing to contribute.
If that doesn’t work we are gone. 
Some might think “why don’t the Chinese brands pay towards this?”
The answer is, because they don’t need us.
We are here to help as a go between service - but if we were not here they would not notice.
The other huge part of the website is devoted to watch face development and design. It is incredibly important to so many people, but again - we can’t survive on thin air.
At the end of the day if we are not willing to pay anything - we will get nothing.
End of speech.

hello boss we can understand your feeling and hardwork but some of your visitors are still students and cannot pay for donations right now so the idea of ads is good we are ok with ads you must start ads on this website in order to keep running this website smoothly.

The guy who pretty much reinvented the watch face design software is a student.
I can’t believe I didn’t think of that…

Poor excuse. I would think these students could give up one starbucks or other thing they don’t really need to help out those who provide these services they aren’t willing to do without. I personally don’t want the ads. I buy every app I can for a few bucks so I don’t have to deal with them. It also leads to better apps when you support the developers.

Hello this is not excuse I am telling the truth we dont enjoy any kind of starbucks 
here in india its hardly available and many city still didnt have single store of starbucks majority of people live here even dont know about starbucks 
so forget about starbucks. we have very different culture from yours here normally student dont earn during their school and college days like yours. I also personally dont like the ads and I know nobody likes ads but as our leader said that due to very less donation and no ads they are facing trouble so that is why I said we are ok with ads because I dont have any other option. You should once visit in our country I am sure you will find very different culture from yours and you will enjoy this. 
I only intended the Starbucks reference as an example but your point is taken. Being able to pay for an app is just an option, if you don’t want to put up with the ads. Having to deal with the ads is a way for the developer to earn money, if you can’t afford to buy the app. Life is full of choices.

A couple ideas if things get too costly. A free web hosting site I have personally used and it’s good - seems fairly unlimited and 5GB disk space: https://byet.host/
And another one I’ve used which is extremely good and about the lowest cost possible with a guarantee to never raise the price you start at is https://www.mochahost.com/
Just some thoughts and I personally would be fine with having some ads here too.

We used to have a “free” proboard forum and we used Google plus for the watch face section too.
However, after many years of running this forum in one form or another, we simply could not use free places anymore.
We have a significant amount of firmware for many different watches so we have 2tb of storage here.
This current arrangement is actually very reasonable and bandwidth, storage, 2 domain names etc all included.
Admittedly we haven’t opened up the firmware store yet but it’s almost finished.
The storage used by attached files and watch faces along is way beyond a free service.
It can’t be done any cheaper.
Unfortunately, even though it is cheap we still end up paying around 80 % of the costs out of our own pockets after we pay this first bill.
So it’s not about us moving - it’s about people chucking in a few bucks for something they either think is worth it or let it disappear.
If you saw how many people visit this site every day you would be amazed.
We’ve been around for almost 5 years now.
Put it this way, if everyone put in $1 just this week - we would be set for a few years!!
However, unfortunately PayPal doesn’t give you a dollar because of the processing fees
So we will look at turning on advertising but I give it a few days - and people will be asking for it to be disabled.
Let’s face it, no one likes ads and will probably block them anyway…
Somehow we need to survive though.
