Hi Marco . Again thankyou for everything . I am having great fun creating watches faces with my son ( the ones we discussed earlier comprising of a watch face followed by a slideshow of images ) . My problem is this .

Sometimes when i raise my watch and face appears it is halfway through the slideshow sequence before watch face appears ? Any idea where i am going wrong ? Just so you know when making watch faces i always have slideshow trick you showed me at the bottom off components list

Kind regards

Dr Andyvishnu

What do you mean halfway through the slideshow? you mean it doesn’t always start with the same image? If so, that’s normal, as when the face appears it will show the image corresponding to the current second/minute. If that’s not what you mean, then I can’t give you an answer. Can you send me an example .xml of a watchface where that happens, so I can see if there’s something wrong with it? It can also be a bug on the watch, but I believe you have a LEM 5 (I may be wrong, of course), which seems to have a good watch engine…

where do i get the hour, minute and second hands
and can i get a lik to the latest version
thanks

You can draw the hands (in which case I recommend using the Hand Layer, forth icon from top to down on the left toolbar, and maybe combine with other elements using GroupLayers) or you can use images. If you use images, then WatchAWear (www.watchawear.com) has great resources you can download and use (don’t forget to give credit to the hands author, though).

The link to the latest version is always available on the first post of this thread, so you don’t have to search this thread for the latest release.

WatchFace Designer v0.7.2 released.

Ok, here it is another version of WFD. This time, it is a request-fulfillment release, so I’ve added some of the things that have been requested in these last days. Here is the “What’s new”:

  • Zoom and Pan with the mouse. Use SHIFT+LEFT BUTTON to pan the watch image. Use Mouse wheel to pan vertically, Mouse wheel + SHIFT to pan horizontally, Mouse wheel + CONTROL to zoom in/out
  • Added Image Preview when opening images
  • Added a “Reload” button on image properties, to force reloading image from disk. Without pressing that button the image won’t reload, and that’s by design, not a bug.
  • Optimized the image output when exporting to clockskin. They are now only as big as they need to be and disk space usage is reduced.
  • Added an Export Tweaked Clockskin option to the File menu. Now the user can select the tweaks to apply on the clockskin export to optimize compatibility with buggy firmwares. If you know of more tweaks, please let me know so I can implement/include them.
  • Added a Text Alignment and Alignment offset properties to DigitalClockLayers, so that the user may decide where the text will appear. This is especially helpful with DigitalClock types where each symbol may have a very different size (such as month names - May vs February).

I know it’s boring to have to be constantly re-downloading in order to update your WFD, but, hey, at least it’s a small download…

No, I don’t think that’s normal., nor do I have any idea on why it happens. Maybe it’s a lack of memory issue? I don’t know, but it is strange. You can send the XML file to me via “Messages” (click on my name next to my photo to view my profile, and then on Send Message). Thanks.

thanks

Will do . And thankyou

Two next needs

  • is it possible to merge two (or more) layers to have one raster picture? For example if I want to make something like a gear made from a bezel and ticks.

  • is it possible to make “transparent holes” - for example if I have a watch hand and I want to make a hole inside?

Btw. This 0.7.2 version just downloaded - a lot of interesting options added so I will test it this evening.

Yes, both needs can already be accomplished by grouping layers. On a GroupLayer you have a propery called “Alpha Operation” (maybe I need to choose a different/better name). There you can choose the default “Union” (which will simply create an element with all the layers, solving your first need. If you really need an image out of it, you can simply select the group and then go to menu Layers->Export selected layers… name it and you have an image . The other options… well it’s better a video than a thousand badly written words

Thanks. I will await for your review and further ideas

Thanks for reply - solution for this first need I found just after sending my post, but about this alfa operations I didn’t know… so it’s time to check it

I have an almost working solution for kw88 small hands displacement. as I don't have a kw88 I can't test directly, so I didn't really finish it. and I wonder if it is still needed, better to use eric's launcher on kw88, but if you're interested I can send you what I did

this is my latest test face, I think it is easy enough to understand how it works. someone tested on a real watch, but I don't remember exactly the results. it was probably still off by 1 or 2 pixels, then my tester lost interest and I abandoned the work.

There seems to be something wrong with the zip file. It's a zero bytes file (or, it may be my internet, I don't know... but even Google drive complains about it)

Sorry, the ClockSkin engine on your watch does not support it.

ok

but with what software do you create watchface.watch?
