Universal Launcher New Generation [2.3 and above]

The pedometer needs to be polled at a defined rate, to save battery, I have chosen to use a low rate refresh. So 8 steps is not bad at all.

Eric, first THANKS ! Awesome Job !!
I install your laucher at my Kospet Brave and it“s awesome !
I“m facing some details, maybe I“m doing someting wrong:

  • There’s no faces that is capable to show the step meter… Just show 000000 anytime.
  • The laucher broke some original apps in 3 or 4 icons with other names (like Kct Sports, phone, bt call).
  • The compass, step meter and step archive just gone…
  • ThereĀ“s no weather app that works fine over the laucher
    What I“m doing wrong ?

@Eric_Crochemore does function on_display_bright() work on ul? Also will transitions = { ā€˜HSV Fade’ } (or similar) and
var_transition = transitions[transitionNo] be supported? I have the tap function next_scene() working but the actual transition isn’t. I have tried all 46 of them. thanks for any reply

No transition is supported and the on_display_bright is not.

@Eric_Crochemore ok thanks for clearing that up.

Hi! … I’ve installed Unversal Launcher New Generation on my H1 (Microwear), but for some reason itĀ“s not reading the heart rate from the build-in sensor, any ideas of what to do?
Thanks!

You mean it’s not reading the previous value measured by the system app ? That’s normal. But you can activate HRM with the icon when double touch setting screen, then it will measure and show in skins.

I don’t fully understand this:

you can activate HRM with the icon when double touch setting screen

That means that I have to go to settings and double touch … where?

If I go to settings I have: ā€˜Heart Rate Monitor’ and I can enable or disable it. Of course I have it enabled, but it still doesn’t show the heart rate (it shows 0 BPM). I also had enabled the option in the sking, but still the same result.

No, double tap on a skin opens a setting window where you can activate the HRM.

Yes, I did that but it still is not showing the heart rate, it only display zero all the time. And I also have another question: is there a way to force the weather information refresh? … It shows the same value always, and I have the smartwatch connected with WIFI and everything …
Thanks for taking the time for answering me, I really apreciate it!!!

My watch is Kospet Hope. I like the universal launcher v2.3 more than the latest version. Because the icons of apps are more clearly than the newest version, less buggy, and also without the stopwatch and calculated. The only problem is I cannot get the weather(location) working on version 2.3. Is there any way to fix the weather on v2.3 or fix the DPI on newest version. The DPI setting is working with the newest version, but not working as good as v2.3. Thanks very much for your work on this beautiful launcher.

No, there is no way to make the weather work in the old versions.
Did you notice that you can use Icon Packs in the newer versions? So you can make them look however you want.
I am a little bit confused that you are saying that the newer Version are ā€œbuggyā€. I’m using it on 6 different watches, without any problems.

@G1NT0N1C is right, new version works without any special dpi setting on the hope…

Thank you so much for your reply. I will check the newest version again.

Sorry, I searched this thread and also scrolled through but couldn’t find anything related. There are so many posts that I’m not sure it’s returning all results:

The launcher I got from the Play Store yesterday, which I assume is the latest version, seems to have a bug: I can’t turn on or off the cellular data from the cellular data icon in the list of icons above Bluetooth/Wifi/etc.

If cellular data has already been off from the MainActivity (default launcher), then when I use the universal launcher ā€œalwaysā€ I can never change it from the list of icons.
(Also, tapping on the 4G bars icon on the other screen shows the SIM status but doesn’t allow me to turn on/off either.)
So I have to go to MainActivity to turn on cellular data. Then when I’m back on universal launcher in ā€œalwaysā€ mode, again I can’t turn OFF cellular data in the set of icons. (And the 4G bars icon now shows active status but doesn’t allow changed either.)

Finally using Airplane mode doesn’t help either because it just turns the status to whatever used to be on the MainActivity (if cellular data was on there, then airplane mode on/off restores it that way).

tldr I would like to be able to set cellular data right from the universal launcher but can’t figure out any way without MainLauncher.

That’s a known restriction of the latest watch FW, this is not a launcher issue… We still hope that the company will put back the cellular data menu in their FW…one day…

You have to set your location. Eric had make a video about it. You’ll find it on our YouTube channel.

Hello Eric,

Why are some faces with the .watch extension invisible in the Uniwersal Launcher?

It can come from the ZIP version used to make the .watch. In this case, usually unzipping the .watch and zipping again will create a ā€œreadableā€ .watch face.
