I’ve downloaded your .xml (on the original post) and saw that you had a lot of work to make the background. It can be done in simpler ways by using groups, group alpha operations, shadows and emboss effects. I made a sample for you to investigate (and use if you wish, but I just eye balled the sizes, so they are not exactly as yours).
