Some problems with the new FAW I bought, anyone can help?

Hello everyone,

I recently bought a FAW H100 smartwatch and while it’s great overall, I have a few questions:

  1. Recent Apps Issue: When viewing recent apps (double-click power button), I only see black circles instead of app screenshots. Any fixes for this?
  2. Launcher Problems: HWatchLauncher doesn’t allow organizing apps or adding favorites. I’ve tried alternatives, but they don’t work well with watch faces or the built-in dial. Any suggestions for app organization or a compatible launcher for Android 8.1?
  3. Voice Assistant: What voice assistant works with this watch? Gemini isn’t compatible (Android 8) and Google Assistant doesn’t work properly. Can I access voice assistant with watch buttons?
  4. Background Processes: Background and accessibility processes shut down after minutes of inactivity. Standard power optimization fixes haven’t helped.

Any advice appreciated!

As its a A8.1 watch things are limited.

Universal launcher will work to a degree but not 100%

This will fix your app closure problems

Settings - acceleration mode - turn on for all apps - enable all apps that you dont want to be killed in white list

3 ) what kind of problem have you with Google Assistant ?

It’s just missing lots of features (Such as making calls, change songs on Spotify etc.), and anyway, it’s support going to end soon, and I can’t use Gemini becuase it’s Android 8.1.

Anyway, if anyone knows how to fix the black circles problem it’d be great, it’s the most importent one for me.

Yes, that’s the problem with an unverified watch or phone using Google assistant.
The rules have changed from Google.
Most users Google Assistant functions will only work on a Google certified device.
The Google built in security software checks that the device is certified in the framework and the software fingerprint.
If these are not certified (and of course they are not) then access to phone dialler, contacts, calendar and microphone are not going to work very well at all…
Sometimes they are just blocked by “Play Protect”

Android 8.1 is not even compatible with the latest Google apps, due to security issues.
I don’t think there is much you can do about this, even if you updated to Android 10 by some miracle.

I’m sorry it’s not better news for you, but you must have understood this is an old Android version when you purchased it right?

Gotcha, I guess I will have to do with that. Do you know about any other voice assistant that might work well on A8.1?
Oh, and if you have any idea how to fix any other one of the problems just let me know!

You can try to update the Google app himself, to do that install this apk : APKUpdater pour Android - Télécharge l’APK à partir d’Uptodown
After in apkudater do a search for Google ( com.google.searchbox… ) and download the most recent version, accept the update of the Google app. I haved another with the same problem ( Google Assistant dont place a call or send sms ) after doing that it’s was ok..
