could just someone tell me how to search a name in the Contacts app ? I have hundreds of contacts and swiping down takes too much time.

You could download another contacts app from play store that supports search feature (and preferably has a dark background)
Sure, already done, but I am amazed from how basic and unusable is the stock contacts app °_°
Which one are you using? I don’t like the stock one either
Google contacts or Truecaller contacts
