Its hard to know as it does work if followed correctly. I have used this many times over with no issues

It might be necessary to fully set up watchdroid first and send a test message. Then, grant the missing permission as described.
I imagine this order is required, but I’m not sure.

YES, my watch came with Chinese firmware (I chose English).
After connecting to my phone( GAOFit), everything switched to Russian.

watchdroid it works, but when a message arrives, it doesn't alert you. You have to go into the app itself to view the message.

Ok, please check if there’s an OTA update available. I think so. If I’m right, update your watch and perform a factory reset.

Uninstall Geofit. Its terrible. Factory reset and start again with watchdroid. Then send adb command

I agree with the doctor. Gaofit could have caused the problem. Watchdroid usually cannot be used if Gaofit has been set up beforehand.
Therefore, I would also recommend a factory reset.
