Hey @pablo11 @AILIFE . How hard would it be to replace the epop LPDDR + eMMC in a true A13 watch? You know I got burned too many times trying to buy one with 16GB or 32GB RAM. They only had 3GB (or similar range) of RAM. However if it is LPDDR4 maybe a capable person would be able to flash over the eMMC into the largest capacity RAM chip the SoC can take? Maybe intersted in LPDDR3 too if it can get up to 16 GB. I need the RAM for local LLMs. I’d pay however much commission that takes.
it is not clear how much memory is supported by w527 processor but it wont be more then 8

Thanks for the info. Is there any other soc which could support more than 8 GB and preferably Android 13 (real) or at least 11?
Do you think it could make sense to any of the sellers offering extra money to get the watch with the true specs? Probably I’d be getting a 3GB anyway?
most w527 are already true spec no more fakes

Can you show me a few AliExpress links? I searched for w527 and also CD12Max+ and it didn’t come up with meaningful results. Maybe I can settle with 8GB. That would run a Gemma 3n and would have a few extra GB for the OS and apps. I checked and the 8601 soc only supports up to 4GB I case it’s in an LPDDR4 PCB and setting, LPDDR3 configuration is less. But w527 is newer than that

Oh yes, Gemma 3n E2B and E4B would fit. I already experimented with them on a Jelly Star (12GB), it’s even multi modal.
My S13 answers call automatically.
It has been a very long time since I used a SIM with my watch because the battery has gone worse. When I noticed the battery is bad, I debloated the watch and kept only the needed apps. The battery still the same. And been using it like that for months.
Few days ago, I noticed the battery is somehow, miraculously, back. Now taking longer to drain. I put back my SIM and what I noticed was, the watch answer calls automatically. No headphones or headset connected.
Just a couple days ago Google Play Protect turned itself on (I had it off). I assume there was some background update of Google Services. This update seems to no longer let my S13 (uncertified device, of course, like everything here) log into anything google. So none of my paid apps work anymore because cannot access google billing. And, of course, none of my Google apps including Play Store work since I can’t sign in. And a lot of unpaid apps just immediately crash out trying to open them, I assume because they were dependent on some Google service. Kinda rendering my watch useless for me.
Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

It really is Android 13. Unbelievable that you still believe in a conspiracy. But hey, everyone needs a purpose in life.

the real deal is android 13 there is some fake with w377e which is are you ready for it 8.1
it is not great to have such high version on a watch, even the w527 struggle a bit on a13

I’ve been using this watch for almost a year now. It is definitely Android 13. And it was definitely working great with the Play store and mostly any app I was interested in, except the ones that complained about the uncertifiedness.
How is this “typical Google”? I understand things are not guaranteed to work on uncertified devices, but I’ve used LineageOS and Havoc OS before for many years and even though that made my phones uncertified (banking apps and stuff wouldn’t work), I had never had a problem where all of a sudden it wouldn’t let me log into Google anymore. This isn’t somewhat new, that Google would be cracking down this hard?
How would CN firmware help? Wouldn’t CN firmware NOT have Google Services? I am trying to have working Google Services and Play store.
With CN firmware you will not have playstore or services. However gmail / drive etc can be used via Browser. Currently i use Opera

in case you have not heard, if you have google play certified, you wont be install apk any more next year, they def are not helping, and on watch with google the apps can not run in background and stop working, in cn firmware they work well

This not a question about conspiracy but a question of fakes specs : Android 13 with Google Playstore and result is that many of major Google apps dont work or refuse to install, so this a question of lie or bad firmware..
because there isnt any other device that have asr8601c that is certified, they either have to make heavy modification to system to spoof everything or forget about it and ofcourse they choose the latter, no one cares about google, the w377e/8541e device can be certified because other phone with same processor is certified they can just change device model
Next year really ? At the moment whe have other Smartwatches who works very well with Google apps, this not the case with this watch. A cn firmware ? Let me see some Google apps ( Assistant, Gemini, Gmail, Agenda, etc ) on this watch with this famous firmware..
