Rumor: Meta to announce new Android smartwatch with camera on Meta Connect event (17 to 18 September 2025):

Meta’s Rumored Smartwatch May Actually Be a Huge Win for Ray-Ban Glasses

Meta might be making another smartwatch, and it still has a camera

That could be great, being a truly full Android smartwatch, with a recent Android version that can be further updated and upgraded in the future (latest Android is version 16), instead of the old ones like 8.1.0 Oreo that such smartwatches have now, and cannot be upgraded.

According to my research, the operating system will be Android Wear. Unfortunately, it’s not full Android.

I don’t think it sounds good at all. Just my opinion of course but I prefer some privacy.

Sure. My hope was that such a smartwatch could be released, allowing competitors to make similar ones. Competition is good.

Just make sure that you understand exactly what you are buying and how you use it.

Data sovereignty is important to many.
