Received my KW88 a few days ago. Been searching for some cool faces and Ive found quite a few (Thanks to all the developers). However I’ve noticed that all the faces I’ve tried they have some issues. Crashes. Missing items. Animation not working. This Di Di face doesn’t show the year. The faces with multi dials the hands are always in the wrong location.
I’ve re-downloaded and installed but same results. I’m not all that familiar with the coding and such “yet”, but is it an easy fix in the XML or is it a graphic design flaw with latest FW 20170112?
I’ve had mine slightly longer than you and am waiting for these issues to be acknowledged - I have a feeling that it’s down to the new firmware, which I suspect either operates slightly differently from other android 5.1 watches or perhaps is buggy/faulty
The multi dial is the most common issue - power needles are always wrong and day indicators too…
I’ve found over 130 faces with this issue alone…
I guess all you can do is mention it for the moment
@Tony_Squ
I’ve tried KW88 smartwatch tips, it’s ok if you want to make a donation for a few faces that might work - I’ve asked which ones have working battery pointers, but no answer was forthcoming - Jason’s enquiry appears to be more about getting faces that he has already found and likes working properly (I think) which is the situation I am in…
What I have seen only these from KW88 tips works … I made a donation and I have some. They really work!
There are few people who know how to make them, so I think it deserves the gift.
@Tony_Squ
Yes, I’m all for freely given donations, but it does say - “To share experiences, problems, tricks, faces and emotions about this fantastic smartwatch!”
There’s not much sharing if you can only access a working face via a heavily solicited donation - and I’ve asked which faces have a working power hand but got no response - so I don’t even know what these faces that I have to pay for, before accessing, look like !!!
On a brighter note, Tony, I was very impressed with these faces https://plus.google.com/collection/US52ME
Jason - “is it an easy fix in the XML or is it a graphic design flaw with latest FW 20170112”
I’m pretty sure the relevant part of the xml is:
month_day_array.xml
16
100
-125
The first variable “16” tells the watch what to display at location X=100, Y=-125 (which is the correct physical location for the missing year field.
An easy fix in xml would be substituting a different value, so I have tried this:
Results so far…
1 = Year Month Day
2 = Month Date
3 = 2 ??
4 = Date
5 = 4 ?
6 = Hour Minutes
7 = Hour
8 = Minutes
9 = Seconds
10 = 5 ?
11 = CRASH
12 = Steps
13 = Battery Icon + %
14 = Battery %
15 = nothing
16 = nothing
17 = nothing
18 = nothing
19 = nothing
20 = nothing
Maybe the “year” function isn’t supported by the watch face generator in the KW88 ?
Or maybe it can’t be accessed by the “arraytype” instruction ?
Maybe it could be inserted manually or as a graphic ?
I could do that much but it would have to be manually updated every year…
I can’t do any more and I can’t tell you if it’s an easy fix in xml or a fault with the new firmware…
Hopefully someone more experienced will pitch in ?
In the meantime I’ll keep trying to get some of the other clock faces working
@Alessandro_Limonta
I’ve got over 130 watch faces with the power hand problem and another 60+ with day hand, year or other problems
My guess is either these functions haven’t been properly implemented in the new KW88 firmware or it’s been implemented differently, in which case, guessing the correct instructions might be interesting - unless it’s just my KW88 in particular ?
I’ve already tried everything obvious
One of the pre-installed faces seems to have a working battery hand - interestingly it also has a non-sweep second hand - however, I don’t know how to get to the XML for it ?
Yes, I’ve tried it, you can’t solve it with X,Y - because - the hand moves - moves - not rotates - into a different position on the screen as the battery level changes - taking a photo for you now
