It’s the illusion of a moving image through a series of revolving discs. Could it be an idea for an animated clockskin?
More information here:

I’ve experimented with this technique before. I rotated a series of images in a ring at high speed, effectively strobing them. I was trying to overcome the 1fps rate of the arrays. The image I got was never stable, drifting slightly left or right.
But it actually looked just like your image. So if you just want to make interesting geometric shapes, then I’m sure this technique will work well.

And I didn’t know there was a name for it, thanks.

@Andrew_Somers so it’s possible. You are welcome

@Andrew_Somers don’t know if this helps but Eric’s launcher supports animation. I think the newer engines support more than 1fps as well nut not 100% sure… @Eric_Crochemore any ideas?

Yes my engine supports animation at 60fps, but i think that here the idea is to go to new limits for the clockskin pure format.

Yes - I think so …

The idea is dancing numbers (very difficult) or a dancing (rotating) background with digital numbers in a static circle in the middle

I was trying for numbers, with the stock launcher
