have you checked through the activity app? on my S1 it record but this app is really simple and does'nt give much so i use s health. have you tried Gliderun it can use the buildin HR sensor.
Yeah, nothing in the activity app. Google fit also record steps, but it has another way to count steps, its not the same as the build in one. Does gliderun use the buildin one?

yes, google fit somehow did'nt work well for me i never liked it and use it.
