MTK Droid Tools and Firmware backup

Finow X5 Plus - USB debugging enabled, Win10,  MTK Droid tools 2.5.3 connects and reads the chipset fine. I am able to click on Blocks Map and it reads the blocks. However, “Create Scatter file” Button is greyed out. Do I have to have root in order to have that enabled?

Anyone know of the proper procedure with the watches to create scatter file? I want to create a backup of the rom prior to flashing a new rom. If someone know of another procedure, please point me in the right direction.

i never done backup FW with mtk devices but to backup your FW i think you need root and recovery because only then it you can backup the FW.

MTK droid tools are not compatible with CPU like Mediatek MT67xx
