MeWe or No Mewe, that's the question!

Due to at least 1 user doing this, I feel that this topic needs to be addressed. On at least 2 topics that I started and a 3rd by @Eric_Crochemore, a user has posted a MeWe link. I personally believe that if you’re part of a MeWe group and you have a face posted there that you wish to share here, as well, and it doesn’t violate our terms, it should be no problem to link to the MeWe post.
However, I believe member fishing for your group, eg. “join my group” posts or “join MeWe” posts, should be considered violation of our terms.
If you start a topic, show a picture of your watch face and appropriate credits, and link to an outside download location, it should be ok, on the basis that it clearly describes what the link is and what you are downloading. Also, if your full Android version is on our server, but the Wear OS version download link is on MeWe, that could be allowed, again, with proper explanation in the post. If you make a post inside someone else’s topic that’s basically “join my MeWe group before you can see any of my faces”, that shouldn’t be allowed. That is considered off topic and a flag-able offense. I personally believe, in relation to MeWe, that this should be clearly stated in our terms, if possible.
Lastly, what about posting Mewe links in your bio? As for donation links, you are not allowed to ask for donations, in topic, when you are posting a face. However offering a donation link in your bio is okay. That is clearly stated in the terms. Should links to your personal MeWe group or on-topic groups that you’ve joined also be allowed in your bio, but not in a topic? I’d like to hear your input and keep this topic going until the issue is fully discussed and resolved. Thank you for your time.

As moderators, we generally agree with what you say. I will say it like this :

  • No MeWe link will be authorized.

  • No “join my community” will be authorized

  • If someone wants to share his work, he must use a Google drive or another shared repository.

  • Sharing a watchmaker face can be done on the UL section with the following restriction : the post should also contain the clockskin version of the face, all warnings needs to be put to clearly state that this face is a watchmaker face that needs UL to run.
