Recently got an IQI I3 and it’s really not working for me as it doesn’t support 3G on T-Mobile and the Sinwear app doesn’t work on Android Nougat. So now I’m thinking of avoiding the standalone watches all together and look at the Bluetooth tethered models instead. Ideally what I’d like is one with a round face, can accept custom watch faces using the default launcher, an AMOLED screen, no cellular radio only Bluetooth to tether to the phone, and has a companion app that works on Nougat. Does such an animal exist, and if so has anyone had any good experiences with one? Yes I know I’m being lazy by asking instead of doing tons of research on my own, but I hate to reinvent the wheel.

try this company they claim it is full android tethering watch and i think they can customize the bands but that something you'll have to ask them as i understood from another thread you need 1700\2100 so ask them if they are willing to do that.
Lets make it simple and within your specific parameters
Android full companion- don’t even bother looking as their idea of companion and Android is what we have here
Chinese non-Android with easy to install wide selection of faces- Unicorn
(even if you find that unicorn, companion capability will be limited)
Wear and Wear derivatives- tons of watches but all in the +$200 range for a new one
Tizen- the entire Gear S2 and Gear S3 line

Thanks for the response, I really think the Chinese smart watches just aren't gonna do what I want.
I looked around a bit, and I’ve been thinking the Gear watches are the way for me to go, but not sure if I want to invest that much in a new one. Hopefully I can find a gently used one at a reasonable price.
Do you follow the smartwatch ticks channel on YouTube? I saw recently he did a video on what is basically a clone of the Samsung gear s2, looks like what you are talking about?

Yeah that is the G3+ or AS2 Smart Watch & honestly, don’t even bother. The best part about them is the rotating bezel rip off & everything after that is just rubbish in my opinion. If you’ve ever used a No.1 G3 - G6 you’ll know what I mean.
Otherwise, if you’re not afraid to spend $80 AUD on a novelty (via Tiny Deal app) then go for it. It may be perfect for you?
In any case, maybe watch the G3+ review on Smartwatch Ticks YouTube channel and make up you’re own mind?
