Of course I unscrewed the back cover and gently looked inside the watch. The surface of the battery was not smooth: it was slightly hilly. I don’t know how it should be, but it was not smooth. Yesterday I sent it to the manufacturer for testing.

This is the crack that developed in my Thor 4 which I sent back. Took 9 months before Banggood gave me a refund of just over half what I paid to buy it. I don’t know why they wouldn’t give me a replacement watch. I also didn’t do anything to break it, the crack just appeared one day and a charging pin fell out. I have surmised that it was due to heat expansion and cooling through normal use…and cheap arse plastic.
@aeger Yes, a 9 months wait and then only receive around a 50% refund of the original purchase price. Simply unacceptable. I’ll certainly be steering clear of Banggood because it seems a good many people have had similar problems in dealing with them. Thanks for the heads up about it. Cheers, Doons

Most of the watches from Finow has a metal back, the newest one is the x7

The whole point of abs plastic construction is to allow the use of internal antennas for WiFi, BT and cellular.
Otherwise the strap has to house the antenna like the X7 and other watches that have steel construction.
The fact is that until about 18 months ago there were lots of watches with steel construction but the pressure from customers to be able to change watch straps won the battle.
So, this is why they are using plastic now.

AliExpress are making me BUY 5 backing plates for my Thor 4 Dual which has also developed the same problem and I have to fix it myself somehow. This is apparently their idea of a warranty. I think my future purchases will be Kospet.
